Not sure if its due to miss-communication between departments, incompetence, or just dishonest business practices, but this was the worst experience we've ever had at a dealership. My wife and I went to look at a specific vehicle a few days ago and spoke with a salesman (Rolando) about the vehicle. We did a test drive, and acknowledged interest in the vehicle. We asked for a write up to speak with our bank. Today my wife contacted the dealerships online sales in regards to their "deal of the day" that she saw advertised. She then spoke with Cam (letting him know that she had promised to purchase from Rolando) they agreed upon an out the door price for the vehicle. My wife informed Cam that she would be in when she got off work, she also contacted Rolando and informed him that she would be in after work today. After work we go to the dealership (check in hand) and asked for Rolando. My wife tells him that she's here to purchase the vehicle. Rolando takes us back to his desk and brings up the offer on his computer. This was not the agreed upon "out the door" price that she was given just a few hours earlier. Rolando goes and gets a manager (I don't recall getting his name) and he comes back and tries to talk all around the numbers as if he's a movie con artist. He tells us that he doesn't know what was said in previous conversations about pricing, he doesn't know why we were given this particular price, (which was already above the price advertised on the website). He tries to explain that the website prices are just up there to generate interests, and they will be different when you come in. Needless to say we left with our check for the full amount agreed upon in my wife's first conversations with Cam and Rolando. Sad part is the difference in price wouldn't make or break the dealership, but the principle of waisting our time lost them a cash sale. More
We changed our mind on purchasing a vehicle and was promptly told that we would not be receiving the partial down payment back. It is non-refundable we were told. There is a reason you see so many bad reviews here. I am a military member from NC and while home off deployment I attempted to purchase a vehicle from this dealership. Bottom line, we drove to SC to I am a military member from NC and while home off deployment I attempted to purchase a vehicle from this dealership. Bottom line, we drove to SC to close a deal as I found this Gastonia team to be unprofessional, more about the money they would make vs. customer satisfaction, and shady when it came to the negotiation process. You would be better to buy online from a place like Carvana than to set foot on this property. Good luck! More
10 days later, loan still screwed up Manager or loan finance person won't return promised callbacks. Purchased a new car. Bank says that they are an approved dealer. 5 days later, loan officer says that they aren't approved dealer. Talked with Manager, and he says that he will see to it. No return calls. Now Bank is sending me paperwork saying that its for a used car! ( It isn't) Momentum Mazda and Toyota of Gastonia are sharing services while Mazda showroom is being remodeled. Apparently, Toyota doesn't know that Mazda is a preferred dealer status with Bank of A. What should have been a smooth transaction has been F$%^ up since purchase. Stay away from this dealership!!! More

Unethical management & scam-like practices Unethical business practices. If you have a written quote from Momentum Mazda tear it up because it won’t be honored when you arrive to buy the car! My wife and I just found out we’re starting a family and needed a bigger car. After a week of working with their manager Hutch Vaughan and sales person Ashraf Ashour “Ash” we had a written deal (see attached). We drove all the way to Lowell to buy the car. We got there and Hutch bluntly said he wasn’t going to sell us the car because he gave us too good of a price—and pushed us to cough up $2,000 more than what they had agreed to in writing. This dealership is the epitome of why car buying is shifting to online marketplaces. And i'll be sure to spend the same time and energy as a week's worth of phone calls, emails, pictures, and lugging my pregnant wife to Lowell in sharing my story to spare others these same frustrations. Hope that you will not need them after the sale I bought a $33000 car here and I was sold $6500 in add on contracts. I was told that they were accepted at all Mazda dealerships and that I would have I bought a $33000 car here and I was sold $6500 in add on contracts. I was told that they were accepted at all Mazda dealerships and that I would have nothing out of pocket for maintenance. I found both promises to be false, and to make matters worse these expensive contracts are 3rd party contracts and the contract provider has a terrible reputation on the internet. That's not all. I sent a certified letter to Momentum requesting a prorated refund for my worthless contracts and they ignored it. I called for both finance and the GM, naturally you can't get in touch with them. When you buy a car, you always hope that the dealer will be there for you when you have a problem. Unfortunately, I chose Momentum Mazda and they are useless after you leave the lot. More
