No Pressure Experience and Simple Way to Make a Deal! I've been researching our Mazda purchase for several months. Because I had a good experience with my last Mazda purchase going through Costco, I deci I've been researching our Mazda purchase for several months. Because I had a good experience with my last Mazda purchase going through Costco, I decided to go through Costco's Auto Buying portal again and this time they networked me to the only Costco affiliated Mazda dealership in the Sacramento area, located on Auburn Blvd. It was a mediocre experience. They didn't have the CX-3 in the trim level and color that I wanted, and only offered to locate one if I was willing to sit down with them. Not only that, they kept calling, emailing and eventually texting, all trying to get me back To the dealership. It was overbearing. I had to tell them that until they have the car I want on the lot, there was no reason for me to drive out there again. Then I decided to try out an autobroker service and another online car buying portal, called TrueCar. TrueCar recommended I contact Anthony Triggs at Mazda Elk Grove, however, Garrett Oxnaes was the one who reached out first via email in late April. Life and work distracted me for about 2 weeks and aside from one more follow-up email from Garrett, there was no repeated calls, hard sell or pressure to get me into their dealership. I got a dealsheet from the autobroker for a similar CX-3, but not in the color I desired, plus I felt the price point could still be better. I did an inventory search online through the Mazda USA website, and it again led me back to Mazda of Elk Grove to a CX-3 GT that I wanted, but in another color that was a secondary choice. That was when I decided to contact Anthony Triggs by email to ask about the TrueCar deal and the CX-3 I saw online. I sent Anthony and Garrett an email Monday morning and Anthony promptly replied within the hour. He explained the TrueCar deal to me, and was even able to locate a CX-3 GT with the desired exterior and interior color with the I-Activsense package I had been looking for, which he said he can have transferred to Mazda of Elk Grove the next day if I wanted. I let Anthony know that I had been exploring other purchase options and planned to comparison shop. Having a better idea of what price range to expect, I asked the autobroker service to update my search and they gave me a respectable figure, which included their flat service fee. I continued my talks via email with Anthony throughout the day Tuesday. There was still no pressure to get me into the dealership and the constant email exchanges were all very low key. Anthony was able to break down the costs of the CX-3 GT with the package and options that I wanted even though it wasn't even on their lot yet. This was something THE OTHER Mazda dealership wouldn't do. Anthony broke down the costs for the rebates and dealer installed options should I choose to have them do it. The final price was extremely close to what the autobroker offered, but because of all the time Anthony spent with me, plus the unique benefits of purchasing through Mazda of Elk Grove (extended drivetrain warranty, free towing back to dealership, lifetime carwashes), I decided that Anthony and Mazda of Elk Grove really earned my business, so I went ahead with their deal. They got the car transferred to them that same evening, and I was told I could pick up the car the next day. Although Anthony would be out of the office when I was scheduled to pick up my car, he kept Garrett Oxnaes in the loop regarding our deal, and the hand-off to Garrett was seamless and equally low key. Since it was a weekday, I let Anthony and Garrett know ahead of time that I was hoping to get in and out as soon as possible. So while my paperwork was being processed, Garrett had us take the car for a test drive, and showed us the services and amenities available at their dealership. He also took the time to introduce me to Kyle, one of their Service Managers. Kyle was also very professional, and took time to answer my service questions about another Mazda I own and tell me what he could potentially do for me if needed. I closed the visit with Steven Khuu, to sign all the paperwork. Steven worked very efficiently and was thorough in answering questions about the available services unique to Mazda Elk Grove. He presented the extended warranty and service contract options available to us, which I normally would turn down without pause. Since it was presented in such an easy and casual manner, we actually paused to think about the options to see if it would work out for us. I am very happy with my experience here! The people are very professional and work with you at your pace. It was nice to negotiate without the pressure, hardsell tactics and other negative connotations associated with a car purchase. Even if you don't live near Elk Grove, this place is worth the drive! More

I went into the dealership well-informed on the stats and specifics of the car, but without a lot of information on the dealer. Isaiah showed the car to me, and helped me out with several test drives on different iterations. When quizzed on the various features of the various trims, Isaiah gave honest, informative answers - even when he didn't know. He committed to finding out the answers he didn't know off the top of his head and followed through with those commitments. Isaiah made a great representative of the Dealer. Rachel was friendly, responsive, and efficient in our communications. Her focus was on establishing a fair deal that benefited everyone at the table. With the unenviable reputation auto dealerships have, she helped to ensure my experience was anything but unpleasant. These two make a great team- ask for them by name! More
