Prompt friendly service. The waiting area is nice. I am not fond of the new location for the service department. It was a much more pleasant experience when you could drive into an area dedicated to the cu not fond of the new location for the service department. It was a much more pleasant experience when you could drive into an area dedicated to the customer and where you could talk to the CSR and leave your vehicle without having to go into the actual garage area. When I walked in to turn my keys in for service the lady service writer was leaned over her desk talking on I came in on Thursday, August 27, 2020. When I walked in to turn my keys in for service the lady service writer was leaned over her desk talking on her cell phone very loudly and giggling, so I went to the next gentleman who smiled brightly, said Welcome, asked the kiddos how they were doing and was very nice. His name is Joe B. He checked my vehicle in and showed my kiddos and I into the waiting room, pointing out snacks to the kiddos who loved the idea. He also showed us to the quiet more secluded area down the hall where there were kids toys and tv's I could change to kid shows. He walked us to that area and assisted one of the kiddos in getting a box of blocks out to play with. Even killed the brown recluse spider that was on the toy bucket!! We only waited for about 30 minutes for an LOF & Rotate, which is very pleasant with 3 kids under age 4! This is our 5th or 6th dealing with Mr. JOE B. ( having followed him over from Nissan where he was our mechanic) And we have always been happy. We had a hard time finding a new mechanic shop after our favorite Premier Automotive shut their shop down 8 years ago and switched to sales only, but we are happy to have found someone as trustworthy as Joe, who has helped us with warranty work numerous times on our old vehicle and this week serviced our newest vehicle. My 5 star rating is purely for Mr. JOE. He also gave me a car wash coupon! NOW MY NEGATIVE...the lady service writer. As a female myself who managed a local Columbia shop for 4 years, I was actually appalled by her unprofessionalism. Working in a shop with concrete floors, oil spills and other fluids occasionally on the floor it should be a Machens dress code requirement that All Employees wear non slip shoes as I observed all the males I came into contact with as wearing them. Not to mention the severe attitude and general snobbiness that she tossed at her co-worker ( Mr. JOE) in the presence of customers (Me). She wasn't welcoming towards myself or my kids at a single point in our visit but she had parting words that were said at my back that I didn't take time to decipher. Machens, I expect you to be better than what your presenting to your customers. Everyone else in the shop at both Mazda & Nissan have been in a company uniform for the majority of my visits, it would do you well to implore that on ALL your shop employees. I hope you have a STRONG HR department because she is a walking lawsuit looking to happen. (My review has been edited to meet the terms of service of dealer rater which required me to exclude pertinent information for how extremely unprofessional the lady service writer was during my visit) More
Fire Joe and Promote Jessica! My initial terrible experience was turned into one of my better experiences I’ve ever had with a service department!!! When I arrived at the Mazda service department, I experience was turned into one of my better experiences I’ve ever had with a service department!!! When I arrived at the Mazda service department, I asked for Joe as I was instructed to do so when scheduling my appointment for my CX-5 Jessica paged him over to help us. At that point I realized he was “busy” making out with what I assume to be his girlfriend. He walked over to me obviously frustrated and greeted me saying ya what can I do for you. I then reminded him I had an appointment. His facial expression showed he didn’t remember and didn’t care. Said okay I’ll call you when it’s done. About 4 hrs later I had to call the store to see what was going on, Jessica answered the phone and told me she wasn’t sure if my car was finished but asked if I would hold so she could find out. After a few seconds she came back on the line and said I apologize Joe has left for the day but your vehicle is ready and I’ll take care of you when you come back in. I explained my frustration with no contact from Joe. She apologized several times and even gave me a FREE car wash when I picked up my car!! Jessica was very professional and polite. If it wasn’t for her customer service I would never return to your dealership. More

Would not take my car there again worst experience and my car was damaged in the process it was scratched and the back bumper was hit. Made me pay to diagnose problem and did not inform me that I would have car was damaged in the process it was scratched and the back bumper was hit.
