Darrell was an excellent Salesman! He did not pressure us to buy (which is key to us buying), and was very knowledgeable on the vehicles that we were interested in looking at. Mike and Adam were both amazing to work with! Even after multiple trips back to test drive the vehicle and look at the interior of similar models I never felt really pressured to make a decision and they always made me feel like no matter the request my time was important to them whether I was going to buy or not. Adam was a great fighter for me in the process of getting the price of my vehicle down to where I wanted it while Mike treated my vehicle with the same detailed inspection and care as he would have taken had it been his own new car! Keeping me up to date via text and always willing to take time out of their schedules to handle any nit-picky little request or question I had they were a pleasure to work with and I would fully recommend both of them to anyone looking to purchase a vehicle from Joe Machens in Columbia! We recently purchased a new car for our daughter who is attending college in Missouri. Since we live out of state, it was important to us to do business with a dealership that has a good reputation and who attending college in Missouri. Since we live out of state, it was important to us to do business with a dealership that has a good reputation and who would take good care of anything with the car, should the need arise. We found that dealership with Machens Mazda and our sales rep, Pat Darby! We were very impressed with the friendliness, professionalism, and knowledge that Pat provided! He was able to answer all of our questions and made this buying experience truely easy! He even located the car with the color she wanted at another dealership and loaned her a new car to drive until the one she wanted arrived. Since we were not able to be in town the day she took delivery of her very first new car, Pat made sure the experience for her would be memorable by placing balloons and a huge bow on the car! Needless to say, she was overjoyed! I also want to acknowledge the Finance Manager we worked with, EJ for his expertise adn friendliness! He made sure that all of our financial needs were met in this purchase. He was excellent in explaining and offering services that were available for the vehicle. He and Pat gave us the easiest experience in purchasing a vehicle. We will gladly refer family and friends to this dealership. We will definitely purchase our next car out-of-state again from Pat, EJ and Machens Mazda! More
We went in the Mazda store looking for a car but left because there was an issue with our credit. We then went to another local car dealer who said they could get us a car, in our payment range and with because there was an issue with our credit. We then went to another local car dealer who said they could get us a car, in our payment range and with our credit history. It took over a week there, the monthly payment kept creeping higher-almost outside of our range and then found out that the vehicle would not pass a legal inspection but they were going to send us out the door in that vehicle. We decided to stop looking and work on getting our credit score higher so we wouldn't have these issues again. About a month later Pat Darby called asking if we were still interested in a car because he had a new credit company to work with. Pat made promises that he could most definitely get us into a vehicle, with a payment in our preferred range and there would be no issues at all. We were worried about having the same issue with Machens that we had with the other company but decided to bite the bullet and go on and look. We went in on Monday afternoon and drove out with a car a few hours later. No taking a week to find a car, we got the car we asked about-Pat listened to what we said, what we asked about and didn't get upset when I took over his computer to find cars-Even thought the car wasn't clean when we left with it Pat has promised that anytime we want we can come back and have it cleaned. More
Everyone at the dealership and the collision center have gone out of their way to make sure I was taken care of. Some things did go wrong and they are making sure everything is being corrected. Didn't fix the problem. Found more problems and wanted to charge outrageous prices to repair or sell me a new car. All I wanted was an oil change and find out what was making a rattle noise. After indicating an interest of a vehicle online, Mr. Darby contacted me and we arranged a time for me to stop in to test drive the vehicle. I brought with me a list of different vehicles rated fairly well as sedans. Pat wrote down the various makes/models and then proceeded to find a variety of cars for me to test drive. This was extremely helpful because in addition to all the information one can obtain about cars, it often comes down to how does it fit me as its driver. Pat was easy to talk with and he respected my effort to find the right fit for me without a lot of unnecessary "sales talk," buyers are often exposed to. I appreciate the time he took to test drive several vehicles with me, and I ended up with a car that's perfect for me. More
