Not very happy with the way I was treated. My dad just passed away and really wasn’t in the financial position to fix my car. But was told there would be a $400 restocking fee. Jesse Walker was very professional and courteous. He explained the service repair process and the broken seat piece was replaced. I was there just a little over an hour, so not too long of a wait. Our truck was there for 3 months waiting for a part, which was legit the part was on back order and that was what was wrong with the truck. The estimate for that transmission part was around $1,000. How which was legit the part was on back order and that was what was wrong with the truck. The estimate for that transmission part was around $1,000. However we were told there were multiple other problems, leaky hoses, turbos, etc which made the estimate a total of around $5,200. Fortunately while waiting for the transmission part we found a mechanic that could fix it outside of Max Ford. He looked at everything and only found the wire harness and an O2 sensor that needed repair, so over $4,000 of that did not even need repaired. Thank God he was/is an honest person. He repaired the truck in 2 days after we had it towed to him. Max Ford had no pictures to justify the "leaks", etc. they said needed repaired. We have spent a lot of money over the past 15 years with this dealership on purchasing and servicing vehicles. This was extremely disappointing. Everyone except the mechanic was very friendly as they always have been, however I am certain they don't really care. They stated they would refund our $150 diagnosis fee since the truck was over diagnosed with false repair needs, but we have never seen that check in the mail. I also have never heard back from the general manager of the dealership whom I tried to contact with concerns. So from here on out we will not be returning to Max Ford and I would suggest that others think twice before having anything more than basic service done there, because after this it seems you may have some extras tacked on that don't really exist. I would however highly recommend Gilkeson Auto Repair in Austin, Mo. Good, honest, Christian repair shop. I am sure this comment will never be posted but it is 100% the truth. More
