My fiance and I heard about Matthews Motors through many of my family members. Since we lived so far away we decided to call there to find out if they were even able to help us being that our credit was not of my family members. Robert Walker was more than willing to assist us over the telephone until we were able to meet in person. On the day of our arrival it was finally nice to put a face to his name (robert). He listened to the type of vehicle we wanted and tried to show us vehicles in our price range. We ended up finding a nice size family SUV that we wanted, and although it was a tad bit higher than our price range the finance team worked hard trying to help us out. It was really nice of Mr. Matthews himself to come over and check on us to see how we were doing to make sure we were being taken care of. Dennis was the guy who got us to sign all of our papers, he was very thourough but quick, really nice guy. We love our new SUV, and we know that if we run into any problems over the next 3mts or 3000 miles that Matthews Motors will be there to help. The only issue I did have was the remote and headphones were missing to our dvd player Therefore it's not fully functional. It's not really a big deal considering that it was used and sold as is. I did call robert and he said there was a set in his drawer that might work, I could have if I just came to pick it up, which was a really nice offer. I asked if they could be mailed since I lived so far away and was told that they wouldn't spend shipping just to mail me a remote and headphones, which I guess I understand. That's a minor detail though, considering the great services that we received. Overall I'm very happy with our purchase and look forward to sending some people their way, and purchasing our next vehicle. We had credit issues that made purchasing a car difficult. Robert asked us exactly what we were looking to do and he assured us he could work something out for us and not to be discouraged. I drove about every car on the lot and ended up being a permanent fixture at their dealership for a few days, which was easy because they were so friendly! He never told me it wasn't ok to drive the 18th car I thought I could grow to like. He was very patient and not pushy because he knew I was making a big step. He wanted to make sure I was happy and that I wouldn't regret my decision or settle for something that I just didn't want. They worked at it and somehow, they got me into the one car I decided I couldn't live without! The staff there are incredible and at first I was hesitant to go into a "used car dealership", sometimes the stigma that comes with those words make you uneasy, but it was not the case at Matthews. They were polite and made sure I was always comfortable and even shuttled me around several times during waiting periods. They were straightforward with their approach and never promised me something they could not deliver. Victoria put together all my paperwork and was very knowledgeable about the ins and outs of financing difficult credit issues. Russ gave me figures that were completely understandable. I always felt it was my decision, we never went through the merry-go-round of numbers. He worked diligently with every financial institution to make sure I got the best deal possible in spite of my credit problems, each time showing me exactly where we stood. I finally made the decision to buy and couldn't be happier with the vehicle or the service I received. I highly recommend them if you are in the market to buy a car. More
