Worst experience with any service center I took my car to Burne Honda today for the squeal that my 2018 Honda Civic Type R makes. It's been making this noise since I got it. I left a review f I took my car to Burne Honda today for the squeal that my 2018 Honda Civic Type R makes. It's been making this noise since I got it. I left a review for Mike Herrity (my salesman) and gave everyone and everything great reviews and 5 stars, but in the review I even said the only issue I have had is that there is a squealing noise that sounds like the brakes. I made that review with less than 100 miles on the car. At about 1000 miles I had a horrible experience dealing with the whole service center, in which I had to call 3 days repeatedly and about 5 times each day to get anyone. When I finally got someone, I had just asked nicely for them to see if they had an eta for when my car was going to be going into the shop to be looked at. I got scolded for even asking that and was told that “they’re very busy and they have no idea, it could be weeks it could be days.” Finally, when they did the work, they damaged one of the wheels/rims and I am still waiting for them to fix that, months later. At this point they were supposed to also check the squealing noise while it was there and they said they didn’t see anything. Mind you, this was at about 500 miles and I had even told them that I thought there was a rock stuck between the rotor and brake pad. I even told them which corner it was coming from. They said they didn’t see anything and said it would go away. When I made this service appointment, the whole reason I made it was because I was called the guy who handles claims when there is a customer car damaged from while it was being serviced. I called him to follow up on my damaged wheel and he said he lost the pictures. He asked me to come down so he could take them again. I mentioned to him about the brakes still having the squealing noise since I originally bought it in. He told me to bring it in for the pictures and they would look into that too. I told him I thought it was just a pebble in between the rotor and pad, or that it could be the rotor shield and he said it would be covered under warranty, even after I told him that I thought the squealing was just from a pebble or something. He never told me that if that was the case, I would have to pay. Wel of course I went, was not greeted in a friendly manner whatsoever, and when went to get my keys I was told I owed them $40. It turns out that I wasn’t right, and that it was indeed a rock in between the rotor and pad. I even told the gentlemen, in which I believe to be the service manager, that I was told it would be covered under warranty. He said “well it’s not.” I told him the story about everything that has happened and he said “yeah, well that will get kicked back to us from Honda.” I explained that I wasn’t even told this would be something that would not be covered under warranty, even when I mentioned that I thought a pebble was the problem and I was charged for this. I explained to him that I work on cars and that if I knew this wouldn’t be covered, I would have done the work myself, in which he replied “oh, you would’ve done the work yourself?” And rolled his eyes. Unbelievable. It’s $40 so that’s not even the point here. It’s not going to break the bank, I just can’t believe how frustrating it has been to deal with Burne Honda Service. On top of that, the loaner car didn’t even have a working radio. More
