Bad workmanship I’m usually very loyal to a product or business but I have to put Family Dodge, Ram and Jeep in the automall On blast. I received a notice of a reca I’m usually very loyal to a product or business but I have to put Family Dodge, Ram and Jeep in the automall On blast. I received a notice of a recall for my Ram pick up in regards to a fuel tank strap that had to be replaced. I figure no problem. WRONG!!! So I call Monday June 18 to schedule an appointment. I was told the part has to be ordered. I respond no problem. I receive a call that Wednesday saying the part is in and I am scheduled for Monday, June 25 at 9:00 am. This is were it begins to spiral downhill. Just to note I have had problems with the service department before for instance leaving my oil cap off after and oil change and being misdiagnosed on several other issues. Anyway so I get there early around 8:25 am and wait in line until I get to the service desk. I am met by a woman and was told that me being early messes up the line. I response “well I’m coming from northeast Philly and I95 is unpredictable. I was asked how much fuel is in the truck and I say about half a tank. I am told that it’s too much and that I should have known there should be less then a quarter tank. I respond where is that written and show her the letter where it states nothing of the sort. Then I’m told I have to leave the truck over night. Again I am not told this. I ask for a rental and am told they would not do that. (This turns in to another comedy of errors). I get a rental and get home and to work. I get a call late Monday night saying the truck is ready. I can’t leave work to get it so I tell them I’ll pick it up on Tuesday. I get down to Family Dodge and pay $25 for them to fix a flat on one of my tires. It’s funny I didn’t get a tire pressure message until I was in their lot but no biggie. I am on the way up 95 when I notice the engine light is on. I’m like xxx. I figure something else is wrong and call my mechanic. I drop my truck off at my mechanic and a few hours later I get a call saying that (wait for it). The solenoid wasn’t connected and the lines were not in the holders. Quality workmanship or what? The charge is going to be $120. I figure that this shouldn’t come out of my pocket and I call the dealership. I get on the line with their parts and service manager Ken. He tells me I should have called them right away and should not have had my mechanic fix it and bring it back down to them so they can fix it. Now feeling a little heated I say well if I had any faith in you to begin with I would have. But since you couldn’t do the job right the first time I should give you a second shot? It goes back and forth and gets heated. I ask if he would like me to meet him face to face and we can resolve this. He says that if that happens it doesn’t work end well. I said how right you are. So bringing this to an end I will never by another vehicle from Family Dodge. Between myself, wife, father and kids we have purchased at least 15 vehicles from them. More
