We went there to test drive a used 2016 Suburban Z71 on a Friday in October 2020 with salesman John Bigelow. Upon test drive, it demonstrated significant transmission issues during half or more throttle (my Friday in October 2020 with salesman John Bigelow. Upon test drive, it demonstrated significant transmission issues during half or more throttle (my husband is a mechanic specializing in diagnostics). The dealer sent one of their service writers with us to verify the issue. He even agreed some sort of transmission issue. The dealership (at this point we were dealing with the salesman AND general sales manager) was supposed to send the vehicle to their sister store for further diagnostics and get back to us with more info in the following week. We left with the understanding that we’d still be interested in the vehicle given the transmission issue was sorted. On Wednesday of the next week, we inquired as to the status, because we never heard back. They SOLD it already. They stated it got a clean bill of health and was already sold. Did they just say it got a clean bill of health, found a new buyer within 3 business days (because we already knew of the tranny issue), push an extended warranty, so they wouldn’t be liable for the fix when the new owner found the issue??? Who knows. Selling it out from under us is one thing. Purposely deceiving the new owner of a KNOWN Issue (Suburbans seemingly have tranny issues around that mileage anyways). SHADY business. Horrible ethics. No way would I do business with them given this experience. More
