I have had my car serviced at Mastria Subaru for the last 5 years and recently purchased a used car from them. The sales rep I worked with was wonderful (Gerome). He was completely customer focused, without 5 years and recently purchased a used car from them. The sales rep I worked with was wonderful (Gerome). He was completely customer focused, without providing any pressure and was great with my kids! I have already recommended him to family and friends. Even after the sale of the car Gerome he has been available for questions and assistance with the car. More
Here is what happened to me at Mastria Subaru on 11/13/2010 when I bought a 2011 Subaru Outback, my first new car. First, based on trust where nightmaire started. Mastria salesperson Mr. Bill Perrine used the MSRP price as invoice price to start negotiate with me which I should not beleive at that time. He said he only earn a couple of hundred dollars from the destination fee. He even added a so called $100 mark down fee to make me believe him that he only earn a few hundred dollars for the deal. He did some calculation based on the fake invoice price on a paper which I never got the whole copy (When I asked for a copy, he only copied the bottom part which did not show the fake invoice price. I didn’t realize until later that he wanted to keep me away from the evidence). By doing this, he got more than $2500 out of my pocket comparing to the offer one of my friends got from another Subaru dealer. Secondly, my new car is missing two parts which supposed to have which costs me about 209$ (splash guard and safety bumper rear). Thirdly, Mr. Bill Perrine told me that my trade in car (an outback sedan) had a transmission problem which will bring down another 2000$ to its value. My car did not have this problem. Fourthly, Bill put 26487$ as my purchase price (was 26935$ in fact) in the form by deducting my trade in car value to keep the total amount same without notifying me before I signed the form. Maybe he wanted to make my purchase price look not that high to somebody or earn more commission fees from the trade car value or whatever…I don’t understand! Finally, Bill Perrine told me that my new car was covered by Mastria’s issurance for 72 hours before I got my new insurance so I could drive home the new car right away. Actually he let us to drive my new outback without a full coverage issurance on it. He was about to give me their police number (which doesn’t exist at all) when I called him the other day. You may want to ask me why I made so many mistakes with Mastria Subaru. It’s just because I gave them my trust as usual in my life, because Mr. Bill Perrine is the first person who cheated me thoroughly through the whole business. Mastria Subaru made a huge trap there which you are not easily aware of when you are being played by in their lobby for 3-4 hours. Cheating/misleading everywhere here and they will never answer you any questions!!! More
My husband and I had just started test driving vehicles for me to see what I might like when I replaced my 10 year old Camry. We only stopped at Mastria Subaru because it was across from a Toyota dealersh for me to see what I might like when I replaced my 10 year old Camry. We only stopped at Mastria Subaru because it was across from a Toyota dealership and next door to the Nissan store (I didn't know anything about Subaru prior to our visit). We were able to walk around the lot for a few minutes without being bothered, then Renato came over and introduced himself. He was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the vehicles, not the stereotypical car sales person at all. We took an Outback for a test drive. Renato took us over all terrain - bumpy roads, curvy roads, and the highway. He even offered to take us offroad. When we got back to the dealership, Renato let us take the car out again (so my husband could drive) while he stayed behind. When we returned, he let us leave the dealership to go test drive other vehicles without pressuring us. After driving Toyota & Nissan vehicles, I wanted to drive the Outback again so we returned to Mastria. Renato let us take the vehicle out again and when we returned, I knew I wanted an Outback. We weren't prepared to purchase anything at the time, and Renato let us leave again, but kept in touch. When it came time to negotiate the price, I was shocked at how smoothly it all went. Renato found the color I wanted and had it delivered within 24 hours. They gave me a very fair price for my Camry, presented a decent price for the Outback. The counter offer was met. Renato gave us a thorough tour of the new car, introduced us to the service team, and even showed us the garage. A couple of days later, he called to see if I was happy with the car. The best part of the whole experience is that I truly love the car! More
From the moment I walked into the dealership the staff was friendly, well-informed, not pushy, and accommodating. The price of the car was fair and the value of my trade-in was more than fair. The test dr was friendly, well-informed, not pushy, and accommodating. The price of the car was fair and the value of my trade-in was more than fair. The test drive sold the car. We were taken off-rode! Fun and fabulous. More
Wayne Groves and Mastria Subaru. What can I say? We had a fabulous buying experience. I can describe Wayne using words and phrases like fair, experienced, low pressure, informative, detailed, kind, helpfu a fabulous buying experience. I can describe Wayne using words and phrases like fair, experienced, low pressure, informative, detailed, kind, helpful, and frankly one easiest people to buy from in the auto sales profession. Let’s face it, buying a new car can be fun, but the worst part (aside from paying for it) is the sales person and their need to pressure you, call you constantly, or ignore the fact that you probably know what your own financial situation is and what you can afford and when. With Wayne and Mastria, we found that none of these concerns were valid. We started shopping months ago and met Wayne. He was helpful and informative. We test drove two cars, decided on the Forester and told him what we were looking for in terms of colors and style. We questioned him about buying a 2010 vs the 2011. At that time the 2011 Forester books were not yet available. Wayne called us when the books arrived. After picking up the 2011 book, we realized that the Forester would no longer be made in Newport Blue. We had fallen in love with that color. It now was a race to find a 2010 in Newport Blue with leather. Wayne realized how scarce these cars were (there were just 6 left in New England) and got right on it, securing this car from another dealer, giving us the fair price we asked for. Additionally we had a trade-in that was very FAIRLY assessed and valued by Mastria. As we finished up paperwork with David Geyer, who did a nice, informative job of laying out the options without pressure, we sat down to wait for our insurance company to finish it’s paperwork and then for Mastria to do the RMV paperwork. With the pressure off to sell, Wayne was just as nice and in fact there was no perceptible change in his demeanor as we made small talk during the wait. As sometimes happens, our insurance company was slow in faxing the required paperwork back to Mastria leaving us stranded 30 min from home with the impending arrival of the school bus. Wayne kindly suggested that we take our trade-in home and that he would bring the new car out to our house when the plates were on it. He arrived a couple of hours later, making me very happy that we didn’t try to wait it out at the dealership. This experience proved to us that you don’t need to go to sacrifice the positive buying experience by going to a high volume dealer. You can get the same deal at Mastria from people like Wayne. We would go back to Wayne and Mastria again. The buying experience was painless even when we had to hand over the money! We have been fans of the service department for years. They are the reason our 1999 Forester made it to over 150,000 miles effortlessly. More
Renato was very thorough in giving us a "tour" of the car, from bumper to bumper. He described the evolution of the styling and engine (as we already have an earlier-model outback). He made the experience fun and friendly, and as expeditious as possible. We feel like we have a good understanding of our new car, thanks to him, and are enjoying discovering even more about it. More
Mastria Subaru and Wayne Graves have made life easier for me! Less than a year ago I bought a 2010 Subaru Forrester from Mastria with Wayne as my salesman. The transaction was smooth and nearly painless. Non me! Less than a year ago I bought a 2010 Subaru Forrester from Mastria with Wayne as my salesman. The transaction was smooth and nearly painless. None of the back and forth haggling that so many dealerships are known for. Since I had a pretty good idea of what I was looking for I had a price in mindand I was sticking to it. The sticker price and my price were aways off but the discussion was painless because they don't do the back and forth dropping the price a couple of hundred dollars at a time. They were willing to meet my comfort level for the price of this great vehicle and I was so pleased with the experience I brought my son back when he needed a new "used" vehicle. My second purchase was just as smooth if not smoother. Due to a different mechanic's ignorance my son's 2003 WRX was irrevisably destroyed engine wise. With insurance check in hand I called Wayne and asked him to have an idea of what was available for my price range in a used vehicle for a 19 year old. I told him I only had a few days to find a car since my son was going to need one to start college within 3 days. He showed us 4 different choices (1 Ford and 3 Subaru's). Only the Ford's sticker was within our price range but the 3 Subaru's were a bit higher. I explained that I only wanted to spend a certain amount and I needed to stand firm on that amount. My son really liked one in particular, a 2007 Legacy. Mastria Subaru understood that building brand loyalty in a 19 year old was well worth meeting my price. Needless to say I have a very satisfied 19 year old driving a 2007 Legacy. Thank you Wayne and thank you Mastria Subaru. More
