My rating for this dealership is DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH MARTIN HONDA IN NEWARK, DE!!! After working a week with them to find the perfect vehicle for my family of 3 and baby on the way, we have been complet MARTIN HONDA IN NEWARK, DE!!! After working a week with them to find the perfect vehicle for my family of 3 and baby on the way, we have been completely screwed over and lied to by the manager Al. We were in There on Saturday 3/22/14 to return the Honda CR-v that we had tested over night. While looking through the vehicle and spend more time in it, we realized there was an animal smell which then lead to us finding all the hair/fur through out .Upon returning the car we had said if they will clean the car and get the smell out then we will be purchasing the SUV. Al assured us that he would have it sent in to be cleaned that night and would be ready Monday 3/24/14 In the morning. Al then said that come Monday and If we couldn't get there for some reason, THEN he would not be able to hold the car. Him saying this wasn't an issue since we would make it our mission to be there. Today (3/24/14) came and I stopped in around 9:30M to check on the smell. Al shook my hand and said that they were unable to get it in to be cleaned on Saturday and that he would do it today and have it ready by tomorrow (3/25/2014). I said thank you so much and just keep us updated. It's now 1:30pm. Only 4hrs after I left the dealership and Erik calls to let my husband know that he is sorry and the CR-v had been sold on the Saturday that we retuned it to be cleaned!!!!!! Why would they do that?! Most importantly, why didn't The MANAGER tell the that this morning while I was there?! That's a shady way to conduct business. Thank you so much sales associate Erik and manager Al for making it easier for us look on with another dealership!!! More

She is always full of energy and ready to help, not to mention while always remaining professional. Her customer service was refreshing before, during, and even after the purchase and I never felt like I was bothering her or that she was giving me the “I don’t have time, what do you want attitude”. I was very satisfied with her service and have recommended her to other friends & family who are now new vehicle owners and have been delighted with Shari as well. From the moment my dad and I parked my trade in and walked to the Honda Civic that popped out at me, the customer service began. Out walked the nicest, friendliest, incredibly knowledgeable, most professional salesman we have ever encountered. Mr. Edward McDowell made us feel like we were the only people on the car lot. The only people in the showroom. He is the reason for the sale. The Honda Civic is a dream come true and is everything Ed said it is. He believes in the Company, the cars he sells, and truly cares about customer satisfaction. And this "gentleman" possesses compassion. He even helped my father zipper his coat. You don't see that every day. The man is such an asset to your company. If we could rate a 10 he would have all tens. Thanks for having such a wonderful man there to take care of us. More

My wife and I absolutely hate buying cars. We have purchased cars from Martin Honda over the years and have had what I would call good experiences in the past. But this time around, we were exception purchased cars from Martin Honda over the years and have had what I would call good experiences in the past. But this time around, we were exceptionally pleased with Shari Godwin. She was just terrific! She made both of us feel at ease without putting any pressure on us to buy. We actually left the dealership without committing to a vehicle the first day. Nonetheless, Shari was very patient, answered all of our questions and ultimately helped us get the best possible trade-in value for our 2004 Honda CR-V. She was professional, friendly and made us comfortable. In fact, we took a stack of her business cards to share with our friends and family. We can highly recommend Shari and the Martin dealership. He was extremely friendly, had great customer service, and took the time out to listen to my needs for my new purchase. Each encounter with Dave was memorable. We shared laughs each and every time, but also were serious when we needed to be. My parents had just dealt with him a few months back, so I knew I was getting a nice representative when I arrived for the first time. Sales was ok but they send you from one person to the next trying to sell you this extra or that extra so if you are trying to keep the total cost under a specific $ amount you have to go back to the oth next trying to sell you this extra or that extra so if you are trying to keep the total cost under a specific $ amount you have to go back to the other person to get rid of something. I loved my sales rep. he was amazing but unforunately he no longer works at Marin Honda. The give you your first oil change for free and when I redeemed it I had no issues. But a Year and 2 months after I bought my car the clutch went. Note I know how to drive stick/this is not my first. They claimed that I burnt it up. Ok fine if I did it I did it but it wasn't covered under warrenty and they wanted to chaerge me $1335! Really? I still was ok, everyone around me told me that this was wrong so just to be safe I called Honda Customer Service in CA. They informed me they would put a case magager on it and check it out. They finally got back to me and told me there was nothing they could do it was my fault the clutch went bad. I said fine and payed it and still kept my cool. Little frustrated that it cost so much but what could I do you know. I asked for a copy of the report of what the case manager found. The service department said they didn't have it. I though ok that is fine I would call Customer Service and get it mailed to me or something. 2 Weeks later the Customer Service Lady called me back and I asked her for it. She stated," A report of What? That I called the service manager?" Really? that was your full investigation? One phone call from CA to DE. For them to tell you that it was my fault. Really, as I told them from the begining if it is my fault I take the blame, FINE! But I couldn't spent that kinda of money on a BRAND NEW CAR with out someone looking into it. I have very disappointed and plan to sell my car. I know longer wish to do business with you or your affiliate companies such as KIA. If any one is looking for a HONDA Fit 2012 bought in Dec. of 2012 and babied I have one available. More
Being a first time car buyer my experience was excellent! I never doubted Sheri one step of the way during the process of purchasing my new Honda Civic EX. I first came in two weeks prior to my purchase want I never doubted Sheri one step of the way during the process of purchasing my new Honda Civic EX. I first came in two weeks prior to my purchase wanting to gain information in which would help me narrow my search and have a better understanding on what car I wanted. This is when me and Sheri first meet, we went over to her desk and started reviewing the Honda Accords in which I was interested in, my mind was blown when I found out all this car could do. We started off with the EX-L, EX down to the Sport. After a deep discussion going over the numbers I walked away knowing the Sport was the car for me. Being so this was my first big purchase and I have no credit established I knew I would need a signer. At the point my grandfather was going to be my signer so I was on his time on which we would make it back to the dealership. Two weeks later my grandfather changed his mind and I no longer had a co signer so I was forced to try on my own. I returned to the dealership on Monday February 17th with my mother. I explained to Sheri my situation about my co signer. I completed my credit application then she went in to see if I was able to get approved for the Honda Sport. Sheri tried a few banks to see if I was able to get approved but unfortunately I was unable to get approved with no credit history. So we had to drop down to the Honda Civic in which I didn't want because that's what I previously had (which was totaled January 5th, 2014). But before showing me the car Sheri wanted to make sure I was approved for the Civic EX. After another moment of waiting good news came through, I was approved! But a tad bit upset because I was unable to get my Accord. But the minute I stepped outside to take the car for a test drive I was ecstatic, I loved everything about this car. All that I wanted in the Accord EX was in the Civic EX (just about). I felt as though I came off better with the Civic EX then if I was approved for the Accord Sport. Never at any point did I feel pressured into making this purchase, Sheri made me very comfortable and was very professional. She made buying my first car a very memorable experience, and has set high expectations for my future car purchases. I would like to thank Sheir for her commendable service! More

This is the 3rd lease from Martin Honda & Dave Romanoski (2 CR-V's & 1 Accord). Each time the price and deal working with Dave was very good. I did a lot of research in price and comparing and I kept finding that Martin was not going to be beat. Dave has always followed up on the leases, is easy to work with and during this recent lease he drove and walked through ankle deep snow to allow me to see the colors of the different CR-V's that I was considering so that I would have a first hand look at the actual colors instead of looking on line or in a brochure.
