I worked with Todd; I haven't bought a car in 20 years, but, he patiently walked me through the entire process and had such a relaxed, competent, manner in answering all my many questions. I purchased a "certified" RAV4 and after driving it for three weeks I had the following issues; 1. A rattling sound inside the back door. 2. Rain water running into the back compartment. 3. Engine three weeks I had the following issues; 1. A rattling sound inside the back door. 2. Rain water running into the back compartment. 3. Engine compartment antifreeze leak. 4. Service light came on. Not having time to deal with these issues I returned to the dealer to get a brand new RAV4. The trade in value was much less (~$5800.00) than what I paid. I felt cheated honestly, I had the car for a few weeks! but I went through with the trade in because I need a reliable vehicle. While signing the documents the financial manager recommended the GAP coverage, the protection and the service plans, so I added them to the purchase. A few days later while reviewing the Service Plan Contract I found discrepancies between what I was told was included in the service plan and the actual coverage listed in the contract (I was told the transmission oil changes and coolant flushes were included in the service, and that the coverage began after 2 years or 25000 miles whichever comes first) so I contacted the financial manager to clarify and after few emails he offered to cancel the policy, I felt cheated again, he was selling me a service that was not there! I was disappointed so I requested to cancel the GAP and the protection plan as well. We are big supporters of Toyota; last year we purchased two brand new Toyota RAV4's for our daughters. This year we thought we could save money by buying a used RAV4 but the whole experience has been conflicting. Two things we have learned from this experience; one, is that even "certified" vehicles can be lemons and two, not to be too trusting. More
