We are very disappointed with Mark Jacobson Toyota. The bottom line is that they are refusing to honor the lifetime powertrain warranty that comes with their preowned cars. Our new (to us) Corolla, purcha bottom line is that they are refusing to honor the lifetime powertrain warranty that comes with their preowned cars. Our new (to us) Corolla, purchased from Mark Jacobson, requires an over $6000 repair. We are only two-years into owning the car, we have completed all recommended and routine maintenance, have only had our car serviced at Mark Jacobson, and also purchased the extended warranty when we purchased the car (from Mark Jacobson). Less than a month ago the car was in for routine maintenance and was given a "clean bill of health." Now that the car has suffered a major breakdown, they are stating that the warranty cannot be honored, that this is out of their control, and that there is nothing they can do to help. We have asked to see a reason for the refusal in writing, and have been told they cannot provide this. The reasons for denial (all given verbally) have ranged from driving the car when it made a noise (on our way to have it checked out, and there is no wording in the warranty addresses this), driving the car with indicator lights (there were no indicator lights), and that the extended warranty has expired (simply incorrect). We are still hoping that Mark Jacobson will come through and honor their end of the agreement, and will certainly update our review if the service improves. Bottom line, the car needs a very expensive repair, and they are unwilling to stand behind their product (both the car and the warranty). We highly recommend finding another dealership More
Tommy Johnson was a new employee but he was very good at helping us find the right car for us. Concerns we had that he wasn't sure of he would find out the correct answer for us. Very unhappy with my last visit to the service department. Had a 3 hour wait for 2 tires to get patched. After my car was fixed, the tech didn't call me because he went to lunch. Today I test drove a new 2012 Prius and a 2012 Camry LE Hybrid. Mr. Ledford was knowledgeable and patient, anticipating my needs. I was very pleased with the experience and the test drive. Frank was very clear and took his time in explaining each car. He never tried to pressure me into something I didnt want. I enjoyed the customer service. Was very impressed with the initial sales contact and immediate explanation of dealership philosophy. Jason was very pleasant and, although it became somewhat evident that he was new to this type of job immediate explanation of dealership philosophy. Jason was very pleasant and, although it became somewhat evident that he was new to this type of job, I think he can succeed with more experience and training. We liked everything we saw about the dealership. We just didn't like the RAV4, finding our other options (VW Tiguan and Honda CRV) to offer much more in terms of fit and finish, sporty handling and overall ride. Within moments of the start of the test drive we knew that it wasn't the vehicle for us, but unfortunately we were committed to a really length test drive despite our indication that we would be glad to head back. My advice to Jason would be to try to modify this drive as it is very long (and uses a lot of the dealership's gas!). Best of luck, Sharon Szymanski More
