We are aware of the issue of getting your SRT engine replaced. The 3rd party warranty caused delay's by inspecting your vehicle 3 times before getting the approval. This was an issue for you being without your vehicle and us having your vehicle apart for 30 plus days. The gasket that leaked came with the new motor. Your frustration with this repair is understandable.

I gave Marino’s authorization to break down my engine on 12/03/2020....I was notified on 12/07/2020 that I needed a new engine. The inspection was schedule for 12/11/2020....when the third party came to inspect the engine, it wasn’t broke down causing a unnecessary Delay. The gasket that came with the new motor was clearly leaking oil....and it was over looked. That’s unacceptable.

You are correct they inspected the vehicle on the 11th, the lifter was lodged into the camshaft frozen, at that point the engine needed to be replaced. The 1st inspector agreed but the decision maker at the warranty company wanted the complete motor out of the vehicle before approving the claim. This is not normal and the first inspector knew the engine was not out of the vehicle prior to the first inspection. Its not our intention to delay these repairs and have a vehicle apart for a month. After the vehicle was inspected we made several calls to the inspection department waiting on hold for 1 plus hours to get any information on the status of the claim. In total the claim was for $ 16,177.12, your out of pocket was $ 100.00 on the repairs. That is a major expense and they took there time authorizing it. As far as the oil leak I agree this should have been identified after the vehicle was road tested prior to you picking up. We apologize for the return visit.

My out of pocket expense is not the issue here, the commutation between Marino’s and the warranty company was poor. Let this be a teachable moment and do better next time.

The lugs nuts on your Cherokee are problematic. Moisture gets into the head of the lug nuts and they become swollen. This becomes a problem when removing the wheels. There are 5 on each wheel at $ 9.00 per lug nut plus the labor to remove it becomes expensive. This is a problem we see in many of the brands currently. This is not something we caused and does cause concern when out of warranty. We understand your frustration and appreciate your business but we were not trying to make you look like a fool. We have 23 techs and have 100.'s of sockets between them it doesn't help when trying to remove.

A brand new set of lug nuts cost $40 US. I have 4 lug nuts per wheel with one of the lug nuts replaced with a wheel lock. Which is 16 x 9= $142 us. When I got home I took them off myself with no problem. I saved $330.00 but was still deprived of the tire rotation by YOU!

If you read it correctly I was able to take the lug nuts off with no problem. Something that should’ve been done at Marino but wasn’t done

Jan should have handled the situation better and we have discussed the issue and at length. Please understand if you have any issues with our front line advisors ask to speak with his/her supervisor. Servicing a vehicle can be stressful our intentions are not to heighten that stress to our customers.
