This past weekend, my mother had spent over SIX hours [with my brother and sister in law] in this dealership trying to buy the car that she had been wanting for a very long time. Due to an insufficient credit score, she wasn’t approved automatically. I then helped her get approved by giving my information and signing for her. I, however, was not at the dealership with her that day. Just like all the other new car paperwork and processes, the signee must obviously sign the paperwork for the dealership to receive credit and for the new owner to legally own. The dealership is ended up letting my mom take the car home in “good faith” and informed my sister in law that they would then meet me at my job on my lunch break or come to my house to have me sign the paperwork. I agreed to meet them at my mom’s house the following business day. Upon calling them, we did not receive an answer. I was then told to call Alex, the financial coordinator, and agree on a plan to sign the paperwork. I called Alex and let him know that I live almost two hours away and that it would be impossible for me to drive that far on a business day, especially after work. He understood what time I got off work and then suggested to have someone “meet me halfway”. I work about 30 minutes from my home, so that needed to be put into consideration when coming up with a “halfway” location. Alex finally stated that he could have an employee meet me at a location that was over an hour from my job. I mentioned a location that would be closer, and less than an hour. My suggestion was turned down, despite the dealership being extremely nice BEFORE the car was purchased, saying they would meet anywhere, even all the way to my house. After work, I made my way to the said location. However, I wanted to know how far the employee was driving, versus myself. I plugged in Marietta Toyota to the location we were supposed to meet at, and the employee would only be driving roughly 35 min, when I, on the other hand, would be driving over an hour. In my belief, this was not unequal and unjust. I also had several things to do before the night ended back home, before waking up for another early work day. I called the dealership back and let them know that I could not meet at the original location and received nothing but negativity. Not to mention, my call was transferred five different times, and each time I spoke to someone different, they acted as if they had no clue what was going on. I spoke to another “Alex” (female), and she was very sarcastic. She said, “clearly I’m not the Alex that can help you with your problem”. After finally being transferred to (male) Alex, I was called a liar for reinstating what they said about meeting at my house or job. I was told that that was never said and that the employee and the whole team of Marietta Toyota was “going out of their way” for me. All I was asking for was to meet closer so I could sign the paperwork and have enough time to get things done back at home. I received a call from the employee I was meeting, which apparently goes by Victor. He had agreed to meet closer, at the exit I had asked. After waiting for him, he called back and said that he prefers that I go one more exit down and meet him another exit down. At this point, I had become frustrated. I was not getting a clear answer on what to do. He noticed my frustration and asked, “What are you doing this for?! WHO are you doing it for?! Because it doesn’t seem like you wanna do it, so maybe we shouldn’t.” ( all with a bad attitude) I said, “I’m sorry, I’m doing this for my MOM who clearly deserves it! But I’ve been nothing but disrespected.” Then he yelled, “I’m going out of my way for you!!! You act like we owe you something!!!” After becoming so angered, I just met him at the exit he asked. He was not there. I called, and he said “I’m still on the way! Give me 15 minutes! There’s a bunch of freaking traffic!” He finally arrives, and attempts to be nice. He also did not answer any questions I had and seemed like he was uneducated/not trained well. I have never experienced this type of anger or such poor quality from a “business”. My mom finally has the car she’s been wanting, but I’ll be sure she never returns there for service. I am also more than glad to make sure I NEVER choose Marietta Toyota for any of my future needs, and I’ll be sure to inform everyone I know to inform everyone they know not to go there. Zero out of five stars from me. Please do not waste your time at Marietta Toyota! More
They're gonna try and scam you I've seen several reviews on here that are similar to my experience at this awful place, leading me to think its a common experience at this dealershi I've seen several reviews on here that are similar to my experience at this awful place, leading me to think its a common experience at this dealership. They will lie through their teeth until the very last second about price. They tried to add SEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS at the last second to the out the door price we had been discussing, and acted like I just didn't understand how car sales worked.... went down the street to Jim Ellis Mazda where they sold a car to me at exactly the out the door price I was promised. They are so pushy. Stay away at all costs. More
Everything is fine and dandy and price looks good until you get to the financial part. They lack transparency when it comes to the price, what bank is financing you (if you are financing), what interest r you get to the financial part. They lack transparency when it comes to the price, what bank is financing you (if you are financing), what interest rate you’re getting and additional coverages. They over explain in some areas, but do not give you the full picture. Don’t be surprised if you do not get your permanent tags within a month, you may have to go out of your way to get them yourself. If you buy an add on service have them provide you with a list of everything is covered and read it before committing to anything. Later you will find out some things are not covered at all. Also, if you have questions it might take you a week to get in touch with anyone More

They delivered on the price that was announced with no extra charges or fees. Overall process took around 3 hours. Only negative was that manager tried to sell an additional package saying that normal wear and tear was not covered and that I would have to pay for everything at the end of the lease, but paperwork was clear enough. I would go back in 3 years to renew.. recommended More
Same tricks as every other dealership If you've ever heard of the rumors that car dealerships are a ripoff machine, it stands true here. Marietta Toyota's team makes the car buying proces If you've ever heard of the rumors that car dealerships are a ripoff machine, it stands true here. Marietta Toyota's team makes the car buying process tiresome with all of the sales strategies they use. I just wanted a car. I actually came into the dealership with an approval (not pre-approval). So, the Finance guy seemed to be pretty bothered that I would not need their financing. From the moment they realized I wouldn't be financing through them and instead through my own loan, the customer service shifted from stellar to ok at best (and that's being generous). I took my approved loan to a different dealership and received amazing service and the car that I wanted. The age old bait and switch review by Newbuyer is very true. I wish I had seen that review before stepping foot into Marietta Toyota. More
Dealer Still Works the Old Fashioned Way! That's not good! With all of the resources available to a consumer these days. You would think a dealer would be straightforward with you, these days. Well, not toda With all of the resources available to a consumer these days. You would think a dealer would be straightforward with you, these days. Well, not today! Wanted to purchase a 2019 Toyota Camry SE (Red with Ash interior). I determined both the cash value ($13K) via Carmax and Carvana and retail value ($16k) of my trade, a 2016 Hyundai Sonata in mint condition. So I wanted $14,500 for mine, splitting it in the middle. My favorite saleslady was no longer there, but I got a replacement, who seemed pretty nice. This complaint is NOT about him. I told them upfront what ($8,000) I was willing to pay plus my trade for their new car. Of course, they sent me out on a test drive (old practice), while they 'worked out' the numbers. The idea is that a customer will fall in 'love' with 'their' new car on the test drive. I see cars as functional, meeting a need (well, except for an Audi A4 with a manual transmission, it gives me shivers). One of the manager's wanted my keys to do an appraisal (I never release my keys, I have to go with you in 'my' car). He did his appraisal. After the test drive, some other guy, I guess another manager says I can have the new car with almost $16,000 upfront plus my car. He wrote down excitingly that my 'current' vehicle was worth only $10,000. Yes, let's that sink in. A car that I could take to Carmax or Carvana, that would get a minimum of $13,000, he wanted to offer me $10,000 for mine. Remember, that is $4,500 below what was my cars 'high' and 'low' price average. By the way, I work in a rental car business in the department affiliated with selling or auctioning our vehicles. I'd told them that upfront, hoping to avoid this game. Here's what the manager/negotiator was doing. He was 'lowballing' my trade-in, even worse that Carmax did (yes, they lowball too, but it gives you a baseline to work up from). So in simple terms, the idea was to offer the 'lowest' price for my car, and the 'highest' price for their car. Their car's Maroney was about $28,000, but with the add-on sticker of things like nitrogen in your tires (80% of the air you breathe is nitrogen, duh), a plastic protectant on the hood, tinted windows and more at prices way above what you could do this for yourself aftermarket. So in general terms, this is how it works. He offers me about $10,000 for a car he will clearly be able to sell for at least about $15,000. That is a $5,000 profit, right! Yeah!. Then he wants to sell me their car, not only for the Maroney (sticker price to you), but for the additional $2,000 worth of add-on junk above the sticker price. In generalization, that is about $5,000 and $2,000. Wow, $7,000, what a profit, right? Here's the kicker, even if he had sold me his car for the Maroney price, of $28,000, he still has additional profit to be made. Why? Because I had my nephew's bill of sale for a similar Camry, just purchased this week. My nephew's Maroney was about $27,000 (his dealer did not have the add-on inflated value items on the vehicle he purchased). He drove his car out the door for $22,500. That's right he purchased a Marony price $27,000 2019 Camry SE, out the door including taxes and fees for about $22,500. So that means even at the Maroney price, my nephew's dealer still made a profit. How? It comes from rebates and incentives that are not publicized to you and me, The last tactic of this negotiation process, was for the negotiator to slowly back off of their original price and "give'' you a 'discount' off of the over the top extra profit, that they would make in the first place. When you balk at their original price, it goes something like this. "What if I give you an additional $2,000 off, then they swirl a circle in dramatic flare around the $2,000 reduction in the already over-inflated $7,000 price beyond the Maroney. It is easy to get lost in the excitement of seeing a number go down, but unfortunately I did not get lost in that. Because it was still way more than I willing to pay. When that doesn't work then you get another slightly smaller offer reduction and so forth. The intent is to get you to do what we used to call in marketing, 'a sharp end close. Which sounds something like this. "If I can get you $3,000 off, then do we have a deal (paraphasing here)?". In the end, for me the answer was, 'no'. But two good things happened. One I was not there more than 1.25 hours, my nephew wore his dealer down by sitting there until everyone, but the manager and an assistant had gone home (7 hours), wow). I don't have that kind of patience. Two, I went home with my good current car and no cash lost out of my pocket. So let me be clear. This is what happened in general, in my transaction. You may get a different approach from a different salesman and different manager, if you go to Marietta Toyota. Nor will I say anything to defame them and I am not implying that they were trying to cheat. Basically, they were using old fashioned, worn out tactics on me (that must work on somebody with less knowledge), to get as much from me as they could, and not provide a reasonable and fair deal (in my opinion) for both of us to be profitable. For yourself, just be aware of these tactics from 'any' dealer, if you want to save money and make what most of us would consider a 'reasonable' deal. Be prepared to walk away, you are the buyer and you have what they want. I love 'Clark Howard', the consumer guru and 'Consumer Reports', for helping me hold my own, this time. Yes! More

The next day the VSC light came on along with the engine light while I was driving to work. After my boyfriend brought up an issue with the struts that he noticed while we were test driving the vehicle. The manager Shawn informed us that the struts were replaced on the vehicle and a mechanic confirmed that they weren't. After an argument the struts were replaced Thursday but the check engine light is still on and they refuse to do the necessary things to fix it. I understand when you purchase a used vehicle some things will occur but not the next day. I feel cheated because I trusted them to sell me a reliable car, I could have just bought one from someone on the street. The only reason I am giving them three stars is because my sales person Tori was amazing from the time we walked through the door until we left. He has been very helpful in assisting us in this matter and did everything he could to ensure that we were satisfied customers. More
