The actual process of getting a car @ Marietta Auto Sales was pretty straightforward. I went to the location with no appointment and was assisted by a gentleman named Roger. We found a car I liked, test drov was pretty straightforward. I went to the location with no appointment and was assisted by a gentleman named Roger. We found a car I liked, test drove it, and completed the application at his desk. My credit is horrible right now, but I was able to get a loan and plan to refinance in a few months. A couple days later I pick up my car (filled the tank on the ride home because I hadn’t noticed that the tank was almost on E when I left the lot), drove it for one day, and the following day it was completely dead. I reached out to Roger and was met with very little sympathy for the fact that I’d just purchased a vehicle from them, but now had to deal with not only the inconvenience of the car not starting and having to purchase a new battery, (I asked for reimbursement for the battery I purchased, and Roger says he’ll let me know the answer Monday. Monday passes, I reach out, then he says Tuesday. Tuesday passes. Wednesday passes and still nothing.) but also the overall stress /frustration/time/energy put into resolving this issue. I communicated this to Roger, along with my frustration about being given a newly purchased car on E, a broken fuel cap cover, literally trash (melted candy, wrappers, and some hunk of chocolate in between the passenger seat) finger smudges on the windows, rear view mirrors, windshields, and visors, dust, dust, and what just seemed to just be a lack of a thorough cleaning of the car. Roger is apologetic and wants to “make it right”. I ask for the car to be detailed inside, he immediately let me know that they don’t have a detailer on site but it can be cleaned again. I drove back to Marietta, only for them to clean the areas that I specifically pointed out. It’s clear that the car wasn’t cleaned thoroughly, again. I leave the dealership and the check engine light comes on. Go to Auto Zone and the O2 sensor needs replacing. I’ve had the car in my possession for 4 days at this point. I ask to cancel the purchase and was told, “There is no real light exchange policy, but we can look at the check engine light.” Just discovered that the windshield washer nozzles are not functioning properly. No fluid is coming out. I decide to reach out to a manager. Got me no where. I called, left messages. Sent messages/emails via various contact methods found online. Nothing. And a continued lack of concern from Roger. Customer service, honesty ,courtesy, and empathy go a long way with me when it comes to being a repeat customer and/or referring customers. I was willing to let things slide initially, under the guise that “it’s a used car”, but it’s been one thing after another, after another, after another. I will not be referring anyone to this dealership or Roger. I’m not saying to shop there or not shop there. We all have different expectations when shopping/buying a used vehicle. Just sharing this experience in the hopes that Marietta Auto Sales & Roger will get their act together. More
