Not veteran friendly. If you want to have a dealer listen to you GO ELSEWHERE. Only want you to finance through them. UPDATE: a couple sales people reached out and lined up a very similar car for me to purchase at the price I originally offered. So they made things right and I finally got my car Original story: I had stopped by multiple weeks in a row to look at a used car. 1st time, they were closed (my fault), but I got to look it over. Second week, I go in when they are open to hopefully talk to someone. I was outside for 15 minutes, and no one bothered to come out, so I went inside to the front desk where no one was stationed and waited. Finally, someone came up, and I offered to buy the car at $900 less than they had it listed for because I'm on a budget. Steven told me there was no wiggle room, so we exchanged numbers, and I said to call me when you're ready to sell it at the number I offered them. Within the week, they dropped the price $1000 and I received no call until I started pursuing them. Steven finally calls me back, and we arrange for a Saturday test drive before I buy. Saturday morning I fill out a credit app to get things going and as I just left my house to go to the dealership, I get a call saying someone came and test drove it and put a credit app in on it, so it was theirs now. I was furious. No respect for if you were there first to buy it. They will sell it out from under you after you put in a lot of effort to buy it. Waisted weeks of my life on actively trying to buy this car only for them to sell it to the first other person to show interest in it at a lower price than I originally offered. More

Went to purchase a new truck today, and was told by the store “team leader” , James Stickler, that my business was not welcome. This all stems from a previous purchase a year ago when the dealership finan store “team leader” , James Stickler, that my business was not welcome. This all stems from a previous purchase a year ago when the dealership finance manager made a $4k mistake. I made it right after being contacted and wrote a check for the dealerships mistake. Now…they don’t want my business. This is fine so many better choices. Good riddance marhofer! More

To say my experience with Ron Marhofer is Stow was less than satisfactory, would be an extreme understatement. I went to Ron Marhofer in Stow a week ago today, on Tuesday 12/6/22. After a lengthy discussio than satisfactory, would be an extreme understatement. I went to Ron Marhofer in Stow a week ago today, on Tuesday 12/6/22. After a lengthy discussion on the trade in value of my current truck, which was purchased in April, (stickered at $36,000 with a Kelly Blue Book trade in value of $30,000) I was told by the salesman, I must have overpaid for my truck because it is not worth more than $25,000… Which is a typical dealership pitch but is also border line insulting. None the less, I went into Ron Marhofer expecting to lose a little money. Doing my research, I reached out to the Ron Marhofer in Cuyahoga Falls. The Falls dealership told me they would give me, “$26,000-26,500” for my trade in. The Stow location wouldn’t match. I decided to bite the bullet and make the deal on the truck I was interested in purchasing if the dealership would fix a few minor rust spots. On Friday 12/9/22, I spoke with the salesman, Noah and according to Noah, the truck I was interested in purchasing was “already heading to the body shop and it likely won’t be ready to pick up until Wednesday” (tomorrow, 12/14/22). We then made an “agreement” without signing paperwork and planned to proceed with the purchase. I told Noah that I found 3% better financing with my credit union, and I was going to use them. Noah remarked, “That’s hard to believe” again, insulting me as if I was not being truthful on the matter. He then asked me if I could come in to sign some paperwork on Saturday, 12/10/22. Once I arrived Saturday afternoon, I was given a speech on ‘how I could sign with their credit union and lock in the truck now, at an 8% interest rate’ – I reiterated to Noah that my credit union was providing me an interest rate of 5.1% and I would be using them. Noah continued to try and persuade me by telling me that “a couple percent is just nickels on the dollar.” Those “nickels and dollars” mean a lot more to me than they do to a multi-million-dollar dealership. Noah then told me that if I don’t sign using their credit lender that they could not hold the truck for me, although the truck was in the body shop. After further discussion, I offered to put down a cash down payment until the loan was completed. Noah told me that his manager James would not accept. After wasting an hour of my Saturday afternoon with the attempts to be swindled and pressured into signing, Noah tells me that he can “email me a buyer’s agreement” to give to my credit union to move forward. I left very frustrated with the customer service I was receiving. My frustration continued until Monday, as I did not receive the emailed agreement as I was promised over the weekend. I did not receive any emails from Noah until after 3pm on Monday, 12/12/22. When I finally received an email from Noah, it was still not the buyer’s agreement that was promised, it was an emailed attachment of a brochure for their extended warranties. Still extremely frustrated, I finally received the agreement and sent it to my loan officer by 3:45pm Monday 12/12. I was already approved for this loan; the bank just needed the agreement to process the check. Noah was informed of this and knew as soon as the agreement was given to the bank, we could proceed with the purchasing of this vehicle and the sale would be finalized when the truck was out of the body shop. This morning, Tuesday 12/13 I received a text informing me they sold the truck to someone else. Baffled with the lack of professionalism I received via text message I decided to call and speak with the manager, James. James was unavailable so I explained to Noah my frustrations and he responded with he “gets it, but this happened here all the time.” I informed him of my intention to put up this review and to help protect other people from this happening again, and he replied “well that’s messed up man. That’ll cost me clientele.” I am unsure how you could ever build a clientele by doing business the way they tried doing business with me. Needless to say, I will NEVER do business with the Stow Ron Marhofer again and I encourage you to do the same. If you made it through all of this, thank you for your time! More

Purchased a pre-owned Tahoe in January. We live in Ohio and it has been very cold. We had a couple of nice days April 23-24. No air conditioning!! Opened the sunroof for the first time and the black plastic side panel that covers the metal fell off which probably isn't a huge expense but added to my frustration. Emailed the salesman, he assured me that it would be taken care of because of the time of year they just accidentally missed it. I didn't think to check because it was January. He talked to Amy, his manager and called me back. She offered to run a diagnostic for free but refused to fix. Took it in, they did a free diagnostic and informed me that all A/C lines were corroded and something like a evaporator or condenser cap (over $700) needs replaced and it would be $3297.43 to repair. Obviously, all of the A/C system did not corrode within 3 months of no use. The salesman no longer returned my emails (imagine that!). Emailed the main manager for a copy of the original intake where they checked the systems asking for a copy of the original intake report and have been ignored. Put a review on google and got the response stating how sorry they were to hear about it and thanks for bringing to their attention. The owner stated that he was getting to the appropriate personnel. That was the end of it. They never contacted me. So they sold a car, possibly purposely with issues and are unwilling to make it right. We were looking on their lot while my Tahoe was being worked on for a truck Very obviously, will not purchase from them again. Will let anyone I know learn of their dishonesty. For the record, Took the Tahoe to Serpentini Chevrolet, they repaired for over $2000.00 less than the Marhofer quote. There was nothing wrong with the previously mentioned cap. Would highly recommend Serpentini, their staff was extremely friendly. More
