I only have around 35k miles on my car, so I haven’t had to need anything besides maintenance and tires, but I always leave happy and knowing that Eleanor will get me where I need and want to go. I found Paul tremendously (over) eager but uninterested in really listening to me. Jordan was patient, took a great problem solving approach, checked to see if there were any bulletins about this from Honda) there were none), had the battery checked (it was fully charged) and went as far as he possibly could. Sadly, the same problem persists, and I would request that Manly convey my complaint to the Honda representative, since I remember having read somewhere that HRVs have this computer problem, but that it can be overcome by turning everything in the car off and waiting for an unspecified period of about 30 mins , and the car will then reset and start. That’s proven to be true, but the problem persists, and my wife for whom I bought this car as a present, refuses to drive it, prefers our older CRV, but this is an unhappy outcome for which there must be a better solution, I know that if, in my work, if I come to an impasse that’s not attributable to me, the outcome is not a happy one, and sympathy or a willingness to listen is important, but only a persistent effort to keep trying to get deep enough to resolve the problem will suffice. As a university professor, I must believe that even a mysterious and random problem as this is does have a resolution, if not a solution, if enough effort and research is applied, and that is the best and only approach one can take. I believe that Honda, which runs a great, successful racing program, would come up with an answer if they were to have such a problem with one of their racing cars. I was disappointed that an extended warranty issue ended up costing me $250 (with no repair done) since Manly Honda determined that an AC refrigerant leak wasn’t under the extended warranty. Is it Manlys intention that customers risk large cost just to see if it’s under warranty or not? Also it appears that Manly service damaged the clutch slave cylinder on my car in the AC diagnostics. My clutch suddenly failed and put me in danger. I am assuming it was damaged by Manly service since clutch cylinder bolts were not reinstalled properly and only Manly had serviced the car in the last 2 years (excluding routine oil changes which don’t come near the clutch cylinder). I have had over 7 Hondas but am now considering other makes due to poor service. More
