Manly Honda - Service Center

I took my Honda to Manly Honda to have the transmission fluid changed. After driving home I checked the fluid level and it was barely registering at the very end of the dip stick. I called the service advi fluid changed. After driving home I checked the fluid level and it was barely registering at the very end of the dip stick. I called the service advisor and he told me it was ok to drive the vehicle back to the dealership. I noticed on my invoice they included a part listed as “Shyft”. I asked what the part is and the service manager said it was an additive. I asked if it was made by, or approved by Honda. He replied, “no”. I was very upset that Manly added a non approved substance to my transmission, especially since they didn’t ask me if I wanted it. They just included without my permission and they charged a fee for it. I called Honda HQ and they told me that additives should not be added to the transmission fluid. It is unethical for Manly to add a substance that has the potential to damage the transmission without the consent of the vehicle owner. More
