Think twice before bringing your vehicle here for service. I brought my vehicle in to get the rear brakes fixed. After paying nearly $500 I got the car back. My wife drove it for the next two months service. I brought my vehicle in to get the rear brakes fixed. After paying nearly $500 I got the car back. My wife drove it for the next two months and then commented that the brakes were making noise. When I checked out the vehicle I realized that they had not properly lubricated the brakes, they had not bled the brake lines so the pedal could be pushed almost to the floor before engaging, and the calipers were so dirty that the pads were only engaging on a very small spot. The car was downright dangerous to drive. They told me I was lucky they were going to make it right because most places would have charged me. They also told me that I was lucky that I nothing serious happened. No apologies were offered and the manager was demeaning and kept trying to put the blame on me. He said that he stood behind the work of his shop. They put my wife's life in danger because they didn't do a complete job. They told me it was my fault that I didn't get the car in sooner when I noticed a problem. (My wife is car illiterate in the first place and she only drove it about once a week; I didn't know about the problem until 2 months after we got the car back). They were in the wrong for returning my car to me in a dangerous condition. Beyond this, they used crappy after market rotors which don't look anything like the front, are completely rusted and look nothing like the factory versions. When I picked up my car it was sitting unlocked in their lot and had been that way for a few days while I was out of town. I'm very disappointed and recommend seeking help elsewhere. More
Mary in the service dept. scheduled the appt for our Jetta. She was informative and if she didn't know an answer she consulted the mechanic. All went well. The price at Mankato Motors is the best in MN and ND for the TDI timing belt change. Looking forward to visiting Mankato Motors again. BTW... we live in NW Minnesota, it was well worth the drive. Even though we did not purchase our used 2010 Chevrolet from your dealership, Russ graciously put forth the effort to det excellent customer service. I hit a deer with my 09Jetta. They fixed it 3 times because each time i was able to spot out what wasnt done correctly, and they still didnt fix it right.
