Bought and service my vehicle. This place is totally deceptive and will do whatever it takes to unload inventory/make money. Their certified used vehicles don't hold value as promised and I seem to spen deceptive and will do whatever it takes to unload inventory/make money. Their certified used vehicles don't hold value as promised and I seem to spend more and more money everytime I go for scheduled maintenence. And conveniently it's always around tax-time (last year it was right after I got my stimulus refund). The kicker...I have the powertrain and bumper-to-bumper warranties, but nothing ever seems to be covered. I love my car and it's never given me trouble (kudos Toyota), but John Elway's Manhattan Beach Toyota and Scion is designed to gouge his customers and I am certain I can't trust the sales or service team. This is the exact situation I was trying to avoid by going here. Would I recommend this dealership: ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!!!!!!!! This is the last time I go there myself. More
I had a small leak of radiator fluid in a newer car with very low miles. I brought it to Manhattan Beach Toyota even though the other reviews advised me against it. I thought that I would be the exception very low miles. I brought it to Manhattan Beach Toyota even though the other reviews advised me against it. I thought that I would be the exception. That is far from the truth! They charged me $90 for the diagnosis and told me that i needed a new radiator hose and inverter coolant pump for the hybrid system. They wanted $850 for the repair. I declined the repair and purchased the parts for $135. I wanted to do it myself. After researching how to repair it I found a service bulletin stating that this part is an extended warranty. At this point I figured I would see if Marina Del Rey would warranty the part before I attempted the fix myself. Without doing a full diagnosis of the problem, Marina said they wouldn't warranty it because the car had been in an accident but they said they could to the same repair as Manhattan Beach Toyota for $460, that is almost $400 less!! I decided to do it myself. After taking the front light out and partially removing the front bumper, I was able to realize the hose had a small hole in it. The pump was in perfect condition. I replace the hose and put new fluid in. The hose was an $8 part!! Manhattan Beach Toyota tried to rip me off. They were going to charge me $860 to replace a hose. Their Service Director, Darron Guy (loser) is a real piece of work. He said he wouldn't refund my diagnosis charge (they misdiagnosed it) because it would come out of his pay. Great customer service over there. A bunch of real Losers. At this point More
We live by the beach and always keep quarters in our cars for parking meters. About 6 months ago, 2 rolls of quarters were stolen out of my wifes car while it was in for service. We reported the problem but for parking meters. About 6 months ago, 2 rolls of quarters were stolen out of my wifes car while it was in for service. We reported the problem but it was only $40.00 so we just wrote it off. Recently our sons car was in for maintenance and his iPod was stolen from his glove box. I called the service manager immediately after returning home and he said he would contact me by the end of the day after he spoke with the owner. I didn't here anything from him so the next day I wrote Toyota Corporate asking them if it could this be investigated. They opened a case but did not answer my question. They said the Customer Relations Manager will contact me by the end of the business day Friday. In the event I did not receive contact from the dealership by this date, please contact them with a file number they provided. The Customer Relations Manager didn't contact me so I responded to Corporate again and they said I would need to work it out with the dealership. I also tried the BBB. I submitted my complaint and received a confirmation e-mail that they received my complaint. After not hearing anything for a month, I called to follow up and was told there was no complaint. More
