Bill you are correct this all happened about about 3 years ago and I am still a bit put off , because YOU were one of the parties I was told to bring the car into so you could see the door. You looked at the car and said well not wonder this has been in an accident ! We have no obligation on this. I bought the car from a good friend and he bought it brand new from your dealership!! The car has NEVER been in an accident and is almost as new looking as the one that is in the showroom at the museum in Torrance. I finally tossed the file I had gathered with all the names and dates because if was clear Toyota was saying FU. I have wasted far too much time and money driving in to your dealership and talking with you and Joy and anybody else you trotted out to see the car. The car runs great which is not what I would say about your dealership. If I had known about this site sooner I would have posted this years ago, I apologize to anyone that has gone to this dealership because I did not know about posting this info here.. Rob

Dear Mr. Curtis, Unfortunately the Solar Shield company went out of business; however, Manhattan Beach Toyota will apply Xzilon paint protection as a substitute for the Solar Sheild product. Xzilon is actually an improvement over the previous product. In addition, we will still vacuum and spot clean the vehicle’s interior twice a year and apply the interior protection. A representative of the dealership has tried to contact you to discuss this matter in hope of resolving it to your satisfaction. At this time we have not successfully reached you and encourage you to please contact Joy Anderson at (310) 939-7926 and she will personally set an appointment to have the protective coat applied to your vehicle. Charging stations are such a great service and we know it’s a real convenience to be able to charge your Toyota Plug-In Prius before heading home after work to ensure optimal fuel efficiency by using the rechargeable electric battery. As Ken explained, just be sure to be extra cautious when charging your Plug-In Prius at any charging station that is not a Leviton. The Leviton stations are Toyota’s preferred stations and when not using one to charge your Toyota Plug-In Prius or RAV4EV, the connection from the charger to the vehicle needs to be removed with caution to prevent damage the car’s charging receptacle.
