I gave this dealer a second chance. I had such a great experience purchasing the vehicle, but their service department technicians are lousy. Went in with a gas gauge issue for the seco I had such a great experience purchasing the vehicle, but their service department technicians are lousy. Went in with a gas gauge issue for the second time. Their response is that I need to read the manual. They felt strongly about it enough, they wrote it in the notes and cited specific page numbers to reference. We’re sorry, we know you didn’t see the gas light warning light come on and have photos, but it worked for us. When your car is down to 10 miles of gas it will come on, not 13 miles as you said. Read the manual. It took them two days with appointment to drain the gas tank, supposedly, and then drive the vehicle with the working gas light on. Apparently I have to get as low as 10 miles range and then have no clue what I have left after that. Clearly a defect, and brushing me off. I’m sure they told Toyota there was no problem, even though online there many similar cases of this issue. Never coming back here again, this was their last chance. If you want to buy a car, they are excellent!, but their service dept will waste your time. I added a photo, no gas light is on. They said it works, maybe but you have to drive the car until you have no clue how much gas you have left. The range is still not accurate. More
Friendly Staff, Terrible Process, No Accountability. The system used by the service department to book appointments apparently does not actually work, besides blocking a time slot with the department. Ad The system used by the service department to book appointments apparently does not actually work, besides blocking a time slot with the department. Add any notes or details about additional service, maintenance, or other issues you'd like to be looked at, and the service team doesn't receive it. Says their system has always been broken and they never see the details of a booked appointment. Lots of wasted time, lots of confusion and lack of answers. This is just one of many bad experiences here. When I submitted a fair and detailed review via the Toyota service survey, I got a call back from a service rep who said he was going to be fired because of my poor review, and I needed to send a note to his boss to save his job. When I've asked if there's someone in management that I can speak with about my experience, even pointing out that it has nothing to do with the individual service reps, everyone gets terrified and says they don't know how I'd go about doing that. I made no comment about any individual's poor service, but rather poor process and accountability, and it seems to fall on deaf ears and become the fault of the individual employees. Management seems to not care, despite multiple calls to discuss my experience. More
Awful All Around Absolutely abhorrent service. We brought a brand new 2019 Toyota Prius, less than a month old. The tire had blown while driving on the highway at only Absolutely abhorrent service. We brought a brand new 2019 Toyota Prius, less than a month old. The tire had blown while driving on the highway at only 50 mph (traffic). They refused to honor the warranty. We left the car anyways because, it’s not really an “optional” repair, planning to pay and fight the charge later. They gave us an estimated wait time of an hour and thirty minutes. Two hours later we call for an update, surprise they don’t even have the part necessary. So we call another dealership who does have the part, and they give us a significantly lower quote than this dealership had. When we returned to have the car towed to the other dealership the staff was rude, belligerent and downright hateful. I would never return and I strongly recommend going to a Culver City or marina dealership. They are much more competent and customer service oriented. More

Dealership Crashed my Car I wouldn't take my car here ever again. I took my car here for an oil change. Simple enough. I dropped my car off on a Friday and picked it up Saturday. When I picked up my car, no one alerted me of anything. I got my keys, drove off the lot and thought that was the end of it. Drove the car all of Sunday and to my shock, I got a voice message from Manhattan Beach Toyota. Surprise surprise my car had been in an accident. I drove all of Sunday not knowing this and not knowing if I was a danger to other drivers on the road. What made me even more upset was that Toyota didn't even inform me when I went to go pick up the car. On top of that, it took almost 2 days to get a hold of anyone to get details of the accident, and that means 2 days without a car. I couldn't understand why Toyota couldn't set me up with a rental on that Saturday instead of me having to go through my insurance almost 3 days later. On top of that, Toyota, demanded that I had to take my car take back to them to fix the damages saying that I needed to give them another opportunity to earn my trust. Now knowing a place crashed your car, and botched informing you, would you really trust them with a car you are spending thousands of dollars on? In the end, I can't really understand how this business is being operated and my trust has forever been damaged with Toyota of Manhattan Beach. More
Awful Customer Service No - this service experience was terrible. I honestly don't know if I'll ever go back to Manhattan Beach Toyota. I bought my car here and had a great No - this service experience was terrible. I honestly don't know if I'll ever go back to Manhattan Beach Toyota. I bought my car here and had a great experience and came to the service center for my first oil change. My experience was so bad it has completely changed my mind and I don't think I will ever be recommending this dealership to anyone, for anything. First, I was told the shuttle could take me home to El Segundo. The wait was over an hour so I paid for an Uber. Then my car took longer than expected and I was unable to pick it up due to family being in town. The dealership had my entire key set and wouldn't allow me access to it until Monday since the service center was closed, meaning I was unable to have access to my house until Monday since my house keys were attached to the key set. This was extremely frustrating since just prior to coming to get the vehicle, I called and was told by the receptionist that I would be able to get the keys without a problem. To make matter worse, when I arrived Monday they claimed to not have my car....... this was the last straw. After 15 minutes of going back and forth that they INDEED had my car AND keys, they were able to locate it and get me my car after I showed them a picture of the order receipt I was given Saturday morning. Everyone was extremely unfriendly, unprofessional, and rude. Coming from someone who works a customer facing job - the entire dealership needs to do better. More
Incompentant Service Department Took my vehicle in for maintenance & rear light out on 8/16/17. Told that they needed to order rear light and it would take 2-3 days. I called on 8/2 Took my vehicle in for maintenance & rear light out on 8/16/17. Told that they needed to order rear light and it would take 2-3 days. I called on 8/22/17 to check on the status of the needed part. I was told that the part came in on 8/17/17. I asked why didn't someone call me. No answer. I took my vehicle in on 8/23/17, @ 9am. I was told that it would take 1 1/2 hours. I finally called at 1pm and was told that the work was completed, but they were washing & vacuuming because I complained about not being called. I took my other Toyota in for maintenance & was going to pick up this vehicle. I arrived at 2pm. I was told that my vehicle was not ready because they ordered the wrong part. I asked why did they say it was ready in the first place. I asked to speak to a manager who ended up patronizing me. I am more upset because they lost my key ring the last time, got into my middle console & used my property without my permission and this time they lied. Sadly, I have no faith in Manhattan Beach Toyota. More
