Service department needs quality control. Every time I take my vehicle in for warranty work, they break something else. Techs are extremely careless and refuse to treat other peoples property with respect take my vehicle in for warranty work, they break something else. Techs are extremely careless and refuse to treat other peoples property with respect. First time, I brought in my vehicle to swap out the front camera, they installed a lower quality front cam. I insisted they fix it, they ordered the correct cam, installed it, and let the driver side door hit a red solid object in the shop. Dinged the door itself, scratched the paint, and cracked the door pillar (with number-pad) in half. Brought it back in, the replaced the door molding. Not long after, I had to bring the vehicle back in for warranty work, as more molding had warped in the sun. (The ~$60,000 vehicle is less than 3 years old at the time…) First I was accused by the rep of hitting it with something, though it was blatantly obvious that nothing had made contact with this plastic part. Ultimately, the rep acknowledged, after a tech inspection, that the was no impact marks and it could only have been warped by the heat. She ordered the part, then had me bring my vehicle in. I waited for 2 hours only to have her come out and tell me that they can’t do the repair because they need a glass install tech to do it. A week later, I bring it in and they finally replace the defective plastic pillar. During the same service, I point out that the plastic molding on the passenger side is peeling away from door. Needs a new part. They order the part, I don’t get a call back for a month, so I stop back in the shop and they have the part in hand. I set up the appointment with the service rep, and drop off my vehicle on the day of. I come back to get my vehicle later that day, and upon receipt, I inspect it and notice that the tech removed the glued pillar trim with a razor blade. As a result, he destroyed my window seal, taking chunks out of it with the blade. I then see that the tech used a dirty rag to wipe down the pillar and the rest of the door, leaving scratches all over it. The service rep promises that they will make this right. He says they’ll replace the trim and detail and wax it to clean up the scratches. I drop off my vehicle for hopefully the last time and get the call to pick it up later that afternoon. As I get there, they have me wait 20 minutes to find my keys, then they try to charge me over $130 for the work. I told the rep that they are mistaken, they need to go speak with the service manager. They do so, admit their mistake and hand over my keys. I walk out and inspect my vehicle. The door trim still look highly scratched up, the door was not waxed, hence why it still looked scratched after their dirty shop rag mistake, and my vehicle has lines of soap or something dried on to the rear bumper. I inform the service manager who tells me that he’ll make it right the next time I bring it in for service… I will never bring my vehicle to this dealership again, nor will I ever buy another vehicle from them. The above listed incidents, in combination with the fact that I waited from Nov. to June to get a replacement hood from the collision center (in which they screwed up the paint job) and only got it because I called Ford myself and found that the shop never ordered one, as well as the fact that I’ve been waiting for a year for my replacement dashboard, have destroyed any inclination to continue dealing with Mall of Georgia Ford. The only exception will be to have my defective dashboard removed and replaced once the part comes in. After that, I will wash my hands of this shop. Save yourself a mountain of grief and steer clear. More
