On 5/16/2013 at 330PM I went to your dealership/service department as my Mercury Mountaineer charging system alert and battery light was on. I talked to a Daniel Moura your service advisor. I explained that I had an alternator replaced with a Ford Motorcraft alternator on 6/29/2012 by Smart Buick in Malvern Arkansas as alternator had failed on road. Alternator was to be warranted for 12 months according to Smart Buick. I showed the receipt to your Mr. Moura who stated”Any warranty could not honor as only warranted through the installing dealer”. I thought well guess I as out of towner got screwed , SO on Moura’s statement and since I was going on a long trip, I went to Georgetown Interstate transmission my trusted mechanic who replaced the alternator with another” warranted” Motorcraft part at $501 with labor! In disgust I called the installing Smart Buick dealer who said the part (not labor) was warranted by ANY Ford dealer and that any statement made otherwise by Mr. Moura was just untrue! Later Mr. Moura called me saying he was wrong and would make it right. A follow up call today to him led to excuses, etc., he might lose his job, etc. I even told him the core was available at Interstate Transmission, yet nothing. This is intolerable. Then on 5/21/13 the service manager called saying he would do nothing and would not accept Mr. Moura’s statements me essentially calling me a liar! More

This site is a sham and a front, possibly maintained by the dealer itself. Way too much similarity of responses, particularly the narratives. had a coupon for an oil change- it was a good deal and the staff was friendly. I wasn't sure where the place was, but i called and found out that it was close to the highway and easy to get to. there w the staff was friendly. Problem was engine repair on a 3 valve V-8. Engine light was on. Cause was low compression,coil, spark plug and or fuel problem. In determining the problem, only a electronic diagnosis was used. Facts prese was on. Cause was low compression,coil, spark plug and or fuel problem. In determining the problem, only a electronic diagnosis was used. Facts presented to me were of a mechanic who did not have a lot of experienced in getting all the facts as to the cause of my engine problems. Reported to me was that the camshaft had galling marks and the cam bearings were scratched which caused low oil pressure which would affect lubrication of rockers and camshaft bearings. Upon inspection of camshaft there are no galling on it nor on rockers arms. I found that a spark plug had been improperly installed some 34.000 miles early which had caused low compression caused by blow by, carbon in spark plug well also on coil boot. Spark plug tip had burnt off and exited by way of exhaust valve as exhibited by marks on exhaust valve face My findings were pointed out to service manager. Mechanic said spark plug was not installed in head when cylinder was removed. Machine shop said a valve guide was out specification which lead to sticking exhaust valve and the low compression. I am now out $4200 for a new cylinder head asy. More
