I purchased a 1966 Chevelle from MGM Classic Cars in Addison, Illinois. After the purchase, I found that the chassis was so badly rusted it had to be replaced. Before purchasing, I followed MGM’s recommendation and used Lemon Squad for a third-party inspection. However, the only photographs the inspector took were of the body and paint—not one photograph showed the undercarriage. In its response to my original review, MGM cited the vehicle’s age and recommended an independent inspection. I had already obtained that inspection through the service they recommended. These substantial structural problems go beyond the ordinary wear I expected from an older classic car. MGM also stated that it has photographs documenting the chassis at the time of sale and that the trunk was in good condition. I am requesting those photographs and documentation showing where the chassis corrosion, floor and trunk deterioration, and fiberglass repairs were disclosed before purchase. I remain very disappointed with the condition of the vehicle I received. Buyers should insist on a thorough inspection by a qualified classic-car specialist, including examination and photographs of the frame, undercarriage, floor pans, and trunk. More

In MGM’s official sales video for the 05 S500 (at timestamp 02:23), the salesperson explicitly states that the car was "all serviced and documented, all the lights everything functions." Because I drove the car home strictly during daylight hours, I didn't need the headlights right away. Once home, the driver's side low beam flickered and went out on my first night drive. Assuming it was routine maintenance on a 20-year-old car, I bought replacement bulbs and igniters to fix it myself. When taking it apart, I discovered the actual problem: the Xenon igniters had been physically butyl-taped directly to the bulbs in a temporary "rig job" rather than using proper factory mounting hardware. The tape gave out, burning up the wiring, igniters, and housings, leaving the entire headlight system defective. Because of this, the vehicle cannot pass mandatory State Safety Inspection and is illegal to drive or register. When I provided photos of the taped igniters and a $1,880 shop estimate to make the car safe and inspectable, I was repeatedly promised callbacks by my salesman, given excuses, and ultimately ignored by management. I was completely prepared to absorb normal wear-and-tear items, but active concealment of a broken safety component is unacceptable. Out-of-state buyers: be extremely cautious and do not rely on their video representations or claims of "serviced" vehicles. Their refusal to acknowledge or respond on this means they stand by this garbage. More
