I was traveling thru California while moving to my new military duty station when I noticed a great deal of fluid inside my left front tire well, but nothing inside my engine compartment so I did not know military duty station when I noticed a great deal of fluid inside my left front tire well, but nothing inside my engine compartment so I did not know where the fluid was coming from. I took my vehicle to MK Chevy to determine what the problem was. The service rep called me and informed me that the Hydro-booster was leaking and the repair would cost $1095 for repair. I instructed him to repair the part. After leaving CA and driving to El Paso, TX, the same fluids were inside my tire well again. I took my vehicle to Mission Chevy dealer in El Paso, who showed me where the fluid was coming from and that it was not a leak at all, but a function of the Vent tube that was located next to the opening of the front left tire well. I explained to him that I paid to have the hydro-booster replaced to solve this leak and the expression on his face said it all as he showed me the location of the hydro-booster and the very unlikely probability for the fluids in the tire well to come from that part without some signs of fluids in the engine compartment, on the firewall, or the hood. He corrected the channeling of the tube and placed a filter on the vent tube as a solution from the fluids from gathering in the tire well, however, this was a natural process for the vehicle and nothing was broken. I have had no sign of fluid in my tire well after the Mission Chevy dealer did the right thing. I attempted to get MK Chevy Asst Manager, Brian Pfapp to admit that the part did not need to be replaced. However, he refused to admit that if the hydro-booster part which is located on the upper back left side of the engine compartment next to the firewall was leaking that there would have been some sign of fluids in the engine compartment or on the hood due the air blowing the fluids around. They refuse to admit any wrong doing or that the part was not required to be changed. The service department took me for $1095 for a repair that did not correct the problem. The GM Customer Service was not helpful at all in assisting me get my money back. The dealership Manager has failed to return a call to me after he was supposed to check into the unnecessary repairs. I would not trust this dealership again or recommend it to anyone. if they would take advantage of a service member, they would take advantage of anyone. More
