New Car Technology I was gerated kindly by the service people and I am very happy with my new car (2014 Kia Soul). My issue with new cars is that like military weapon I was gerated kindly by the service people and I am very happy with my new car (2014 Kia Soul). My issue with new cars is that like military weapons, thechnology has advanced much faster than human intelligence. With this oil change, my car was recalled for power stering issues and for side curtain airbag issues. As for the power stering, my car has an electric motor assist with no fluids involved. I have not learned how it works, but if the computer haqs anything to do with it, I fear the computer can the wheel from me at any time. As for the air bags, I feel that these crossed the line on being a reasonable safety device when we learned that they became killers by sending out shrapnal upon opening. To add insult to injury, my recall was based on the possibility that my curtain airbags could deploy simply by being too agressive in a turn and a software adjustment was needed. So a computer could conclude that I took a clover too fast or a curve in the road too fast. What? Please give me back my old cars! Regards Steve O'Gara More
