When I called to make a service appointment, I had my choice of times including "same day," The estimated time for my service visit was the same as the actual - amazing! I also had an unexpected fender that was popped out (probably dinged in a parking lot). The body shop was going to give me an estimate, but instead was able to pop it right out. My bill was the promised amount and I was in and out in an hour. I am a very happy customer of Hopkins Honda and will sing their praise far and wide. Thank you!! More
In March of 2013, I purchased a 2013 Honda Fit from Vern Pettis. He was an awesome salesman to work with! I started off wanting a Honda Civic SI, to a Crosstour to a Fit; so of course, I had to test-drive t Pettis. He was an awesome salesman to work with! I started off wanting a Honda Civic SI, to a Crosstour to a Fit; so of course, I had to test-drive them all. And not only did I test-drive them all, I went in there three different times! You would think a salesperson would lose patience, but Vern NEVER did! He went on every test-drive with me and explained all of the features and gave me the history of each model I drove. He was super knowledgeable! It made me feel like I made an educated decision in purchasing the Fit and I never felt pressured to purchase! When I took delivery of the vehicle, the Financing process was less than an hour, the vehicle was detailed immaculately and Vern followed-up with me the next day. Not only was Vern a top-notch salesman, but the dealership was clean, everyone was accommodating and each staff I encountered was professional. From the moment I walked in the door, I felt welcome like I was in my own home. Thank you Vern Pettis, Hopkins Honda and the Luther Family! Major shout out for a job well done all across the board! :o) More

I had my car in for service due to excessive oil consumption. I found a Honda technical service bulletin that put my car in the bracket that required a software update to resolve the issue. When I made the appointment to get the software update I got a manager approval that they would do the update on my car. However when I got there I got the run around from a different manager that my car may not qualify for the software update if I didn't have the proper codes come up in the check engine light. Thankfully my check engine light had the proper codes and they did the software update. I was very concerned that due to the excessive oil consumption that I may have other issues of the oil fouling up the engine so I asked the service adviser if there is anything that I should be concerned about. I was told that there is no other concerns. Three weeks after the software update I was on a road trip with my car when in the middle of nowhere my check engine light came on and was blinking. Luckily there was a Honda dealership at my destination and I stopped in there to try to get service but it was late on a Friday afternoon and they were ready to close. When I talked to the service adviser at the dealership he asked if I had any recent oil consumption issues and I told him yes and that I had just gotten the software update. Then he asked me if they had changed my spark plugs when I got the software update and I told him no that they had not. He told me that at his dealership that they always recommend to their customers that have had oil consumption issues to replace the spark plugs at the same time as the software update. The thing that makes me angry about the Luther Hopkins Honda service dept is that I specifically asked if I should be concerned about any other issues and was told no. Long story short is that I was able to buy some spark plugs at the Rochester, MN dealership and went and bought some tools to replace the spark plugs myself. I found one of the plugs that I pulled from my car to be severely fouled with oil. After replacing the plug, my car worked great again. Luther Hopkins Honda service department did not provide me with the service that I would expect when I was having issues with my car and did not provide the technical expertise as requested to ensure that my car would not break down in an inopportune time. Had the provided me the technical expertise I would not have been nearly stranded away from home with a broken down car. This is the second negative experience with Luther Hopkins Honda service dept and will no longer go there to have my car serviced. In fact, the experience has been so negative for me that I will not buy another car from this dealership. More
We drove form Wisconsin to get our Vehicle form Luther Hopkins Honda. Upon arrival we found Mike and were able to get going on the process to purchase out Used 2012 Honda Ridgeline. The dealership is amaz Hopkins Honda. Upon arrival we found Mike and were able to get going on the process to purchase out Used 2012 Honda Ridgeline. The dealership is amazing. They treated up to cookies, water, and coffee while we waited and went through all the different parts. We were out of there in about an hour and a half. They took care of everyhting for us and got us going on our way. We would use this dealership again in the future. All the staff is very friendly and the place is very clean. Would recommend this dealership to anyone looking for a Honda! :) More
This is the closest I've found to "old fashioned" service. Kind, prompt, and dedicated to "making it right". I recently had an experience where a part (replaced 1 year ago) failed again. They worked with me to do the repair at half of the cost of other places. I agreed. They did the service, and I paid. On the way home, Hopkins Honda called me to say that they were reversing the charge on my credit card. This part should not have failed, and they were going to cover it. THAT is great service! I really appreciate them...and after 7 years of this consistent service....I trust them. More
I have taken my 2009 Honda Accord to Hopkins Honda since brand new. Now it has 100,000 miles on it. I can tell you that I have always gotten superb service. They fix what is wrong and nothing more. They price their service right and never have suggested service not needed. They have a terrific showroom, with coffee, treats, TV's, and newspapers making it pleasant while you wait. They have ALWAYS been very timely, and I never have a long wait. This is OUTSTANDING service and reasonable pricing. And, My Honda runs as good as it did on day one. Thanks Hopkins Honda!!! More
I delivered my Honda for a recall repair. I appreciate the flexibility of scheduling the repair in the evening. My repair was completed the same evening, at least an hour earlier than they had estimated. More

Over all, I still purchased a used Honda CRV from Luther Hopkins Honda, so it was good enough. But as a general statement, I made the purchase because they had the car that I wanted. The negative issues that I experienced were not show stoppers, but if I had a choice to take my business elsewhere, I would. My issues were as follows: Once I put money down on the vehicle that I wanted, I sent an email to my sales person asking for the VIN, exact final price, and the mileage, so that I could send that information to my insurance company. I did receive the VIN and the mileage, but with regards to the final price, the response that I received was that it was the end of the month, and they could not get that to me until I signed the contracts. This was just a minor problem. I wanted to add a couple of accessories to the vehicle before I received it. These accessories were cross rails on the roof of the car, and a 2" inch receiver for a bike rack that I already owned. It was only after the these items were installed that I was told that there was no 2" receiver for the Honda CRV, and that the only option was a 1.25" receiver. So I now have a $800 item installed on the car that I did not ask for. No one called me to ask if the substitution was OK. In addition, in order to make the bike rack work, I have to locate an adapter that will allow a 2" receiver. The bottom line is that I still took the car, but if I was given the choice prior to installation, I would not have installed this $800 accessory. I hope that I can still make this work. The sales person that I purchased this car from talked about getting me an adapter. As of this evaluation, he still has not contacted me about this situation. Finally, at the signing of contracts. The business manager asked me what other vehicles that I drove. I mentioned that I had a 2006 Audi A8. His negative reaction focused on his perceived poor reliability of this brand/model. I then mentioned that I also owned a 1999 Ford Expedition with 176K miles. Once again, he managed to come up with an unfavorable reaction to Ford and Ford products. While I am fully aware that his experience with Audi and Ford might not be positive, it is unfortunate that he feels the need to bring this up at my contract signing. One might think that if I have owned the same vehicle for 14 years and 176K miles, that my experience with that vehicle was probably positive....and it still is. While it was an expensive vehicle, my wife's Audi A8 is the best car I have ever owned, and that includes two Honda vehicles from the 1980's. The service that I have received from the local Audi dealership is the best I have ever experienced in over 30+ years of owning cars. If Luther Hopkins Honda comes even remotely close to Carousel Audi service, I will be thrilled. At the end of the day, even though this should be a positive experience of purchasing a new (used) vehicle, all I could think about driving away from Luther Hopkins Honda was my negative experience with their business manager and that I had an $800 accessory installed on my CRV that I did not ask for. In the final review, based on my experience at Luther Hopkins Honda, if some other dealer had this same vehicle for me to purchase, I would have purchased it at this other dealer. I would imagine that owners of Luther Hopkins Honda would agree that this is not the impression that you want your new customers to have. More
