Buying a new 2017 Chevy Volt I would rate the sales experience a D -. The only reason it is not a F is because at the end of the day, 11 -5, I was able to drive the car off the lot. 1. I signed up through Costco to purchase a new Chevy Volt. I received an email from Lance Vadnais addressing me as Steve and saying he would be happy to help me get a new Equinox. I replied, stating my name was Scott, I was looking to purchase a Volt, and I would like to work with Scott Larsen. Lance replied, again calling me Steve, saying he had forwarded it on to Scott Larsen. Scott answered my questions 2. I went to the dealership at 11 on December 3 with my wife. We worked with Steve Wick. When he went to get the keys to the car, they couldn’t be found, so we had to wait. 3. After the paperwork was filled out and went to Finance, another person was supposed to talk to us about the process/dealership, but she never showed. 4. The Finance person said she would take on that person’s role as well. The process felt a bit rushed and she talked over me a couple of times when I wanted to say something. The paperwork is not properly filled out. 5. When we were done with Finance Steve told us they were behind on prepping cars and it would be an hour or two before ours would be ready. He said he would call us when it was ready. Over two hours went by, he never called. 6. When we drove back to the dealership Steve said only one key had been found and they were trying to program another key but were unsure about the process. He said, if nothing else, we could take the car and come back during the week when more knowledgeable people would be there. However, when he came back, after checking the status, he said we couldn’t take the car because they had cleared the key that worked as well, so no keys were working now. After another wait, they were able to program the keys. 7. While going through the car features, I set up my phone via Bluetooth. There was a phone listed already. I was told the car was sold but the financing fell through. Was this car driven off the lot by the other buyer? I set up my phone just before leaving the lot. How long did the other driver have the car before it was returned? This was represented as a new car. I believe I should have been told this upfront. I feel this is somewhat dishonest. I am considering writing a letter to the Minnesota Attorney General to ensure proper answers to these questions. 8. I was also told that since the car had been “sold” On-star had to be reprogrammed and I should be getting a call through On-star in a couple of days, that has not happened. I am not “Completely Satisfied” More
