The people who work in the service department are wonderful. The service, however, is HORRID! I will never by another car from a Luther dealership. The hassle is just too much! wonderful. Good communication regarding service and parts I needed for a repair were ordered and arrived within 2 days, however, the next available service date was 2 months out. I had to schedule repairs months in advance to get on the calendar, which when dealing with safety recalls is concerning. The dealership also misplaced my keys and took 20+ minutes to find them making me lat calendar, which when dealing with safety recalls is concerning. Unfortunately, the service is terrible! It takes at least two weeks to get in, and then bad things happen. Earlier this year, I took my Palisade in for regular service. When I picked it up, the windshield had a huge crack in it. Had to be totally replaced, entirely at my expense. (They admitted no fault whatsoever.) Next time when I took it in for regular service, upon pickup the driver's seat would no longer move in reverse. $600+ repair and completely my responsibility. Now perhaps those were both my fault. We'll never know. But almost two weeks ago, when temperatures were in the 90's, my A/C went out. I was up north, so I had a local guy look at it. He found a broken hose. As it happened, I had an appointment a few days later to have the driver's seat repaired, so I called and asked a real-live-person at Luther Blmgtn Hyundai to add the A/C to my service request. She agreed. Sunday evening I dropped my car at the dealer and noted the need for a new A/C hose on the key envelope just in case. When I checked in Monday afternoon, they said the driver's seat was fixed. I asked about the A/C. They had no idea what I was talking about! They checked their parts inventory but had no A/C hoses - in fact, there were none in the Twin Cities area. (Really? Who doesn't stock A/C hoses in August? That defies common sense). I needed my car on Tuesday, so I picked it up. They said they'd have a hose by Wednesday. Well, they didn't. Not on Thursday, either. Not even on Friday! Saturday I had to drive the 200+ miles back up north (again in 90+ degree heat). I won't be able to go back to the Cities until Monday, 9/11, at the soonest. Think they'll have the hose by then? By Christmas, maybe? After so many bad experiences like this, I will never buy another car from a Luther dealership. Life is too short! More
Said they’d have a rental when I called several times, and they did not. I figured out a day before that my work was covered by warranty and I knew going into the work was covered by warranty but they kep and they did not. I figured out a day before that my work was covered by warranty and I knew going into the work was covered by warranty but they kept saying if it wasn’t I’d have to pay- and the price kept increasing. It was only after I called the warranty company myself, and found out that they were not only supposed to have a car for me, but they were supposed to cover the repairs that they finally started getting to work on it and it magically found me a car to use. Really frustrating. I was also told when I purchased my Hyundai. I was also told when I purchased my Hyundai that the Luther dealerships could share information about my vehicle, which also is not true. Really frustrating. Thankfully, they were able to fix the issue. I’m really hoping that this fix lasts longer than a couple months like the last one. I hope they can do better in the future. More
