I actually like everything about their service, but my latest service visit (scheduled maintenance) was $200 (25% higher price) more expensive than another Subaru dealer in the same town. Brought my car in (10/19/2020) for an oil change & a noise/thump in the front, when starting the car first time in the morning. They needed to keep the car overnight to try to duplicate the noise/thump noise/thump in the front, when starting the car first time in the morning. They needed to keep the car overnight to try to duplicate the noise/thump. Quickly got a loaner & was on my way. The next day they called. They'd found an oil leak, covered under the extended warranty, and needed to keep the car longer to fix it. They needed to pull the engine to fix the leak. Also, some cam (?) on the linkage (?) was loose (?) - they think that's what was making the noise. Repairs were done as soon as the parts were available. Took about 4 days AFTER the repairs were completed to get the OK from the extended warranty company. I called on Friday, 10/30 & the car was ready for pickup. They also said the noise/thump was no longer happening. I picked up the car on Saturday, 10/31/2020. Got home & parked it until Monday, 11/2. I went to start it on 11/2 & still have the noise/thump in the front. Every time since then, upon starting it first thing in the morning, I have the noise/thump. Have not called them yet, as I have been too busy to bring it back in - Maybe I'll have some time tomorrow. I didn't mind them having the car for an extended period of time, but I wish they'd have called/texted updates more frequently, instead of me having to call them. I also wish they'd have actually fixed the noise/thump. If I bring it in again for the noise/thump, I suppose I'll have to pay for diagnostics again. As I'm getting close to the end of my extended warranty, I'd like the noise/thump explained. They said it's probably a cold car & the oil is not circulating, but it didn't do it last winter. More
