Shop charges are simply consumables (shop rags, brake cleaner, latex gloves, silicone spray) the shop uses in the process of servicing a vehicle and removing of hazardous waste. Automotive facilities are charged fees to remove hazardous waste (used oils, used filters, used tires etc.). These items are not able to go in to a landfill with normal trash. These charges are a percentage and can vary up and down depending what our vendors are charging at the time of service. This is similar to a gas station. Our FC charge is simply the fee that is built in to the oil change price for fluids for top offs such as washer fluid, coolant, brake fluid, transmission fluid. These charges are not a Lundgren Honda only charge but are charges that are applied at every automotive repair facility nationally. We pride ourselves on our reputation and being completely transparent with our customers and I hope this helps give an explanation to your concern. FC charge is ridiculous. Almost all fluids will not need to be "topped off" unless there's a problem/leak with the exception of the washer fluid. You should ask your customers if they want them topped off instead of charging them without permission. When I go in for an oil change, that's all I want. Don't add on the service to line your pockets.
