This was the first Honda dealership I visited when I went to look for a new car. I wasn't sure when they told me they had no haggle pricing that they were offering a good deal. I was looking at the Fit, wh to look for a new car. I wasn't sure when they told me they had no haggle pricing that they were offering a good deal. I was looking at the Fit, which was on backorder there and had a bit of a waiting list. They were only offering 50 dollars off MSRP. They also offered a base extended warranty and some other dealer incentive options. They were very understanding when I told them I was just looking, and I did not feel pressured to buy right there at all. When I went down the street to another honda dealership, they insisted they couldnt go below MSRP on the car I was looking for, even after I argued with them for almost an hour! And their dealer incentives were not nearly as good. The only problem at had with lundgren was that they did not have a great selection. Everything else was just what car buying should be. More
We really want to answer "yes" to the recommendation question above and, honestly, we still hope the people at Lundgren will eventually change our minds. Lundgren was first on our list of Honda dealers question above and, honestly, we still hope the people at Lundgren will eventually change our minds. Lundgren was first on our list of Honda dealers based on a used car purchase several years ago (good price, nice treatment), their prices, their generous return policy, and their no haggle pricing policy. During our recent experience with Lundgren we found it next to impossible to communicate with the sales staff except when actually present at the dealership. Our sales person did not respond to email inquiries about a car we test drove, and when we phoned about the availability of that car we were told by another sales staffer that it was sold, then that it wasn't, then by the time we reached the dealership an hour later the car actually was sold. It could have been bad timing, but we strongly feel that if our sales person had responded in anything like a timely manner to our post-test drive questions (the car needed some repairs), we would have bought the car we wanted. Auto sales people can often be pests with follow up calls, but Lundgren's staff errs in the opposite direction---something we find amazing. More
I bought my 2007 Accord from Lundgren. When it needed I bought my 2007 Accord from Lundgren. When it needed its first repair in June 2007, I contacted the service center for an appointment. Looking at t I bought my 2007 Accord from Lundgren. When it needed its first repair in June 2007, I contacted the service center for an appointment. Looking at their website today, they appear to have expanded their hours, which is excellent, but at the time, they (the service center, as distinct from sales and oil changes) were open Monday-Friday until 5:00 and closed Saturdays. This seemed an inconvenient and impractical customer service model in a day and age when many husbands and wives both work Mon-Fri till 5, followed by a long commute, and in a bad economy when many employers don't look kindly on employees taking days off from work for every minor car issue. The Lundgren employees I spoke with just had a general "can't get there from here" mindset. There was no offer of loaner cars. The only suggestion was that I had to get the car there before 5:00. It turned out to be a more serious problem than it had appeared (what appeared to be a large scratch--parking garage pillar damage--apparently had something bent underneath and necessitated a new door and a hefty payment to another garage). In any event, the Lundgren employees' approach was unhelpful. A more serious issue arose when I took the car Sat., Oct. 4, 2008 to a local garage for state inspection. It failed due to not having a front license plate. The inspection guy said this is a regulation most of the general public has never heard of. Indeed, the RMV site acknowledges "many people" are unaware. However, you would think a dealer that does inspections would be. My old car had front and back license plates. I traded it in to Lundgren and they put the plates on the new car. The new car has a sloped front and no bracket. I thought some car styles were just like that. When I called Lundgren Oct. 4 to ask what they did with such "unused" license plates, the receptionist (who was nice) said they sent them back to the RMV. The manager then said they could not possibly have made a mistake. He asked condescendingly, in a tone as though speaking to a child, whether I had been in an accident recently. The answer is no, though I think if I had, I would have been aware of it and thought of that before calling(and not called!). The garage guy said there was no evidence there had ever been a bracket or plate holder there--no marks or screw holes. Lundgren just suggested I order a duplicate plate on-line, but that is one service RMV doesn't allow on-line and RMV is closed in my area on Saturdays. I will have to drive nervously many miles during the work week with a rejection sticker before I get this straightened out alone. I was amazed to read here of Lundgren going out of their way to deliver cars to New York and so forth! No one offered the slightest customer service to me, even for what was apparently their mistake (neglecting to put the front license plate on). When I bought, they said Call us anytime in the middle of the night, etc if you have a problem, but I have no trust in this--I would call AAA. In short, their non-service results in inconvenience for customers, embarassment, missed work time, and much stress. Sorry to see it. More
I have purchased several Honda's over the years, but this buying experience was by far the best. I had a great price on the new CR-V two minutes from when I walked in to the dealership. They let me test dr buying experience was by far the best. I had a great price on the new CR-V two minutes from when I walked in to the dealership. They let me test drive a couple of different cars, borrow one overnight to make sure I was comfortable...in fact they made me feel comfortable the whole time I was there. I will get my next Honda there too. And I loved not having to negociate. Nice people, really. Unusual for a car dealership. More
I have been a customer of Lundgren for over 8 years, I have been very happy with every experience I've had with Lundgren. There is no pressure from courteous sales people who go above and beyond to accomm have been very happy with every experience I've had with Lundgren. There is no pressure from courteous sales people who go above and beyond to accommodate your needs. I've also have my cars serviced regularly at Lundgren. Which is always completed in a timely and professional manner. I purchased my first Honda from Christine Comeau. who treated me with such a "authentic" kindness and professionalism I have yet to go anywhere else. So if you are looking for a dealership who will treat you right with no "pressure" to sign, at the right price with a commitment to excellence Lundgren is the one! More
No problem setting an appointment to have the 70k service. Annie went over what to expect and how long it would take Car was ready before I anticipated it being ready. I asked for a service sche service. Annie went over what to expect and how long it would take Car was ready before I anticipated it being ready. I asked for a service schedule which she printed out. A very simple guide to when I should bring it in and what would be done at future visits. Everyone there seemed happy to help. Clean and comfortable areas to wait. Impressed with quiet separate lounge/office area. The service area is very neat and clean. More
This jerk talked to us like we were toddlers, went back on the word of our original salesman who was "sick" the 3rd evening we went back to actually purchase the vehicle, was very condescending, and then s on the word of our original salesman who was "sick" the 3rd evening we went back to actually purchase the vehicle, was very condescending, and then sent some female "manager" out to berate us for actually believing what our original salesperson told us. If you cannot train a salesperson to know the about the products they are selling, then you can feign ignorance instead of admitting to deceitful pratices, and you probably should not be in business. Disgusting. More
I had scheduled an oil change over Thanksgiving weekend while I was up in Massachusetts. While at the Honda dealership, my girlfriend and I became interested in the new Honda CR-V. We’ve been wanting somet while I was up in Massachusetts. While at the Honda dealership, my girlfriend and I became interested in the new Honda CR-V. We’ve been wanting something bigger. “Yes sir”, “oh no problem sir”, “don’t you worry sir“…you know. The problem started when they realized I didn’t have a NY State driver’s license. So they come up with the plan that first thing Monday morning, they would drive the car to my neck of the woods, register it, and give it to me. Monday came and went. I’ll spare the details but they lied a bunch. Something about NY state rules vs NY city rules, which ended up being completely made up. Tuesday went. Wednesday came. “I’ll leave at 9:30 in the morning sir, don’t you worry”. 11:00 came. After all these lies they had told me about DMV this, documentation that, I decided to call the NY DMV myself and see what I had to do. After the very helpful man (though very retarded phone menu system) talked me through what I’d need to do, I called the dealership, told them to deliver my car at this moment to my front door, and I’d take it from there getting the car registered. “Right away sir”. They wanted me to drive to Albany. They wanted me to fax them copies of my passport and social security card. They told me that I had to be their in person, then they told me I didn’t need to be there in person (I needed to be). They told me I needed to pay 5% MA state tax, then the difference (3.83%) to NY state (wrong). All-in-all, I purchased the car Friday and was told I’d have it first thing Monday morning. What I did receive however (besides the car 6 days late), was a plate full of incompetence and a side-dish of lies. In the end I had to meet the guy on I-95 on the Connecticut border because “He’s an old man with a sick wife”. Two weeks later I noticed $908 missing from my checking account. The took the money out without authorization from me (they had my credit card number from the down payment) because I owed them the difference of the NY registration and what they had originally charged me for registration. No phone call, no letter or bill for $908. They straight took it out of my account with no notice. I called my bank but all they could do was report it as fraud and I'd end up with a new debit card...I'd still owe the 908 so there's no point in that. These guys are liars. Seriously. More
Multiple promises to call with status of vehicle without following through. The only time dealer called me was to get permission to start this expensive job... after that I had to initiate EVERY phone call. following through. The only time dealer called me was to get permission to start this expensive job... after that I had to initiate EVERY phone call. And there were many. Even when told I will call you back in one hour... nothing after three, so I had to call. This is just one example. This one day job turned into 6 days. Service advisor was not friendly at all. She even pissed off my wife, which is pretty hard to do. Just took my car in today for more work - but it was not to Lundgren Honda. They should be ashamed. More
I strongly recommend Lundgren Honda to everyone. Those of you who thrive on haggling price may have a frustrating time with the deal due to their "Haggle-free pricing", but the final price will be very re of you who thrive on haggling price may have a frustrating time with the deal due to their "Haggle-free pricing", but the final price will be very reasonable regardless. With the internet offering plenty of pricing info (MSRP, Invoice, & "What people are paying in your area"), I had a reasonable markup price in mind for the Odyssey EXLR&N we wanted and Lundgren came back below that number. Also, I was pleased to find that Lundgren extends the Powertrain warranty among other incentives. When we told neighbors and a local mechanic we were ready to buy but wanted to find the right dealership, they all said Lundgren (We are new to this area). Lundgren was willing to work with me in detail on my purchase. I specified that I wanted the Odyssey EXLR&N Silver w/dark grey interior with less that 10 mi. on the odometer. In less than 2 weeks, our vehicle was delivered to the dealership, wrapped in plastic in and out with 6 miles on it. I was completely satisfied. The Service Dept. is well-maintained and appears to be well-staffed. The waiting area is exceptionally acommodating...though I am hoping I don't spend much time in there. More
