Lugoff Chevrolet Buick GMC - Service Center

First of all, I have always liked this dealership when it was called "Heritage Chevrolet". Over the past 15 or so years, my extended family and I have purchased numerous cars from the previous owners there was called "Heritage Chevrolet". Over the past 15 or so years, my extended family and I have purchased numerous cars from the previous owners there and have had virtually all my cars serviced there, even non-GM products. So, I got an engine/transmission error code on my 2019 Equinox (right after the warranty expired, or course) and I sent my wife down there with the car. I suspected the problem was just a low battery as I have seen similar things occur in other cars I have owned. Well, after three hours of diagnosis, the tech figured out that the battery was indeed the problem and replaced it. Total bill was $550.00! When my wife presented me with the bill, she had me sit down first because she knew I would hit the floor when I saw that number. About half of that charge was the diagnosis fee (I had already figured that out for free) and the other more than half was the battery itself. exactly $280.00 for a battery I can buy at Advance Auto for about $100.00 and they will install it for free. I had figured taking the car back to the dealer was probably not the most cost-effective way to address the problem, but YOUZA! Guess I am going to have to find a new place to service my cars. Anyway, I would still recommend this dealer for service, as they did apparently fix the problem, but with the caveat that you may need to take a second mortgage on your house to pay the bill. More

After my last experience, i am hesitant to recommend them to family and friends. I took my vehicle in for an oil change and tire rotation. I asked the service advisor to have them check my brakes while they to family and friends. I took my vehicle in for an oil change and tire rotation. I asked the service advisor to have them check my brakes while they were going this service. She said that checking brakes was part f their multi point inspection and they would check my brakes. When my vehicle was completed, I asked the person who did the service work how my braked were and he replied he didn't know and walked away. A few minutes later he came back with a tool that they used to measure the brake pads. He pulled out his phone and turned on the flashlight and tried to use this tool by putting it through one of the holes in the rim. He said i had 4mm left on pads. I asked if this was good or not and he really didn't know. I didn't not feel very confident in the way he checked the brakes and not knowing if they were good or not. I told the service advisor about above and she said she would let the service manager know. My concern is that the brakes were not checked when i asked and it appeared that the multi-point inspection was done as well. More
