On 4/22/23 we called to schedule a test drive and when we arrived it was not a friendly greeting. The salesman who sits at the desk to the right when you walk through the door is very rude! Multiple times he arrived it was not a friendly greeting. The salesman who sits at the desk to the right when you walk through the door is very rude! Multiple times he yelled over to us, "I'm busy and we will have to wait. Go check at the other desk and see if the salesman can help you". There was no one else in lobby on two men behind the glass doors. He then proceeded to yell out to Joel as Joel was walking to his desk "You need to take on more clients like the rest of us", while the rude man sat entering stuff in the computer with no client in front of him. It was strange because the entire time we were in the dealership we never saw one client in front of him. I deal with the public everyday and there certainly was a better way of saying, "Someone will be with you shortly". Honestly I'm not sure why we stayed after his rudeness. Searching the internet there were plenty of other dealers that had the car we were looking for. Lesson learned for future car shopping. We will say Joel Fryer was very kind and friendly. He was handling at least two clients at the same time and he wasn't rude at all. When we walked outside I asked if he was going to be our salesman, if not we were leaving because I wasn't going to deal with that rude man. He assured me he would be our salesman. We decided to take the drive that morning to Lucas because we saw the dealership was offering a lower interest rate than the GM rate but that was also not offered and we have excellent credit. We are not sure why we never got a complete explanation. Another disappointed we encountered we weren't able to put the down payment all on a credit card. I didn't have my checkbook with me, so I had to drive back home costing me two trips to the dealership and 4 hours of driving. When we purchased a Buick this past fall, we didn't have an issue putting a large deposit on the credit card at that dealership, only at Lucas Chevrolet. You want the sale you bend over backwards for the client but I guess that isn't the motto at Lucas Chevrolet. My rating for Joel is Five Stars while my rating for the dealership is Two Stars. I can't say I'll return to this dealership anytime soon! More
