I am 56 years old and purchased many cars in my life and it was The Worst car buying experience ever! Should've read the reviews on Google. Every negative one is correct. Starting from false advertising. I it was The Worst car buying experience ever! Should've read the reviews on Google. Every negative one is correct. Starting from false advertising. I found 4 trucks advertised on Auto Trader at price I liked. Since calling dealers to check availability is useless(everything is available until you get to the dealer, and than -”Its just been sold”) we decided to go. Mind you–its little over 3 hours drive but selection and price were too good to miss. Of course when we got to the dealer out of four we were told that one is sold and two others in shop Truck looked good, listed price was good but dealership refused to honor it because according to Alex, the sales manager – I did not qualify for discounts. Nothing of “subject to qualifications” mentioned on Auto Trader. Even though in their initial written offer they started with correct advertised price, but they added rebate (how can rebate be added???) and multiple options and fees. This model has no options listed. Basically they inflated the advertised price by about 10k. Alex kept pointing to something on website but was completely ignoring the “Price is valid when it originates from an internet advertising” statement. At the end I was offered price that was still about $3,000.00 higher than advertised with tax and fees. (By the way the whole concept OTD price seemed to be foreign to Alex. According to him – nobody does business like that). At this point we were too tired and it was getting late and spending more time and energy with another dealer did not sound appealing. We were planning to finance the truck but as far as special 3.9% financing we were explained that it is either discounts or special financing. Again, nothing of the sort in Auto Trader advertising. Special 3.9% APR from GM Financial listed right in the middle of the screen. I was not allowed to do my own financing either (I do have score of over 820) and if I’d do that price would go back up. Of course no disclosures of that sort are anywhere to be found either. Than F&I manager Dave stated that truck is commercial so interest will be much higher (blatant lie since commercial starts from 4500), and he was able to negotiate the great rate (at 7.30pm on Saturday when banks long closed) of 7.53%. At the absolute minimum he added 1.5% to rate I was qualified if not 2%. As my wife mentioned that this rate is ridiculously high and will be refinanced immediately Dave said that there is a prepayment penalty and truck can not be refinanced for 6 months. In fact there is a penalty if paid off in 6 months but only $75 and its listed in details of sales contract. Dave was also extremely and uncomfortably pushy trying to sell Gap, extended warranty and whatever else by playing old sales person technique of “Its only ___ $ per month. After we finally got out of his office we were given only one set of keys (3 weeks later we still have no second set) and I ended up moving plate myself since sales personal had no idea what they were doing. The only follow up was to get an insurance company information. Reminders about second set of keys were answered with “I’ll check with manager” and that was an end of it. To add to an insult the two trucks that were mysterious unavailable still listed on both Auto Trader and dealer at even lower prices. Bottom line – I was ripped off, they pushed the sale all the way to closing time of dealership so they will not need to deal with anything, they filled the truck last minute (not even full), truck was in Transport mode, and I had to move license plate from trade in to new truck myself, almost month later still no second set of keys, and nobody even trying to make an effort to do anything. We ended up spending over 4.5 hours, old sales technique to wear you out even though I choose the truck in 15 minutes including the test drive. As I said – Worst care buying experience ever!!! By the way - its my 4th Chevy. For the record - I bought More
