They didn't fix what the car was originally brought in for. I originally called and John answered the phone and i stated i was only calling for an appointment because the check engine light was on and i w for. When I dropped the car off I asked also to take care of a luggage rack recall and an oil change if they had time. While it was there a new hood assembly (we had been waiting months for since the OEM hood had rust bubbling the paint from the inside out) arrived, unknown to us. I called to ask when the vehicle would be ready, and John said " let me check" 5 minutes later he came back to the phone and asked if I had the vehicle or if they did. So I said "why would I call to check on it if I had it?" He said "hold on". 5 minutes later they informed me the new hood was in and the vehicle now would not be ready until the next day. They never called to inform me there were finally replacing it, to allow me adequate time to plan transportation to work the next day. When John called me the next day to let me know the vehicle was ready I went to pick it up. I asked why the check engine light was on and he said they didn't allow enough time to fully diagnose it, other than it was a cat code. I said well thats the original and only reason I made the appointment. He (the person I talked to when I made the original call for the service) said no, the mechanic only happened to notice the light when pulling it into the garage and simply ran a code and said he needed more diag time. So it left me with needing to schedule another appointment and be without my car for another day or possibly more. They tried to suffice me with no charge on the oil change, but id much rather have paid the oil change and had my original issue taken care of, and not be without a car for extra days. So I made an appointment, couldn't get over how unhappy I was with the situation and canceled the appointment and made one elsewhere. Then they emailed me telling me I owed an outstanding balance for the deductible on the new hood, which seemed fishy to me. Fishy, because, it was a warranties item and the issues with it were from a poor paint job at the factory, so it's not as if it was an insurance claim. Also, when I picked my vehicle up, lombard listed the service and parts charge for the hood as $0.00. Only now that I canceled my appointment are they emailing and claiming I owe more money. Its a real shame, I won't trust that place to touch another vehicle of mine after this. I always have bought my cars there because their salesman Mark Jones is a wonderful person and the best car salesman, he is straightforward with you, doesn't pressure you, doesn't lie and doesn't xxxxxxxx you. He's honest and relaxed and I would be happy buying cars from him for the rest of my life, but unfortunately, this issue with their service department has left me not even wanting to buy cars from them anymore.
