Your paperwork actually reflects 13.4 hours of work that Ford was willing to pay for. The biggest issue was that it ended up being more then the manifolds which isn't something that we could see until we got in there and then we had to get permission from Ford and more parts which that takes time. Your egr outlet tube was cross threaded so that had to be fixed you had 4 manifold bolts that were broken that had to be drilled out and the threads cleaned up which took more time because if you aren't able to drill them out and save that then you have to replace the head. So we needed extra time and parts to perform the job properly. Tech time used to actually work on your vehicle was 32.2 hours the rest of the time it was down in waiting on parts and approvals from Ford warranty. It was the one and only time we've ever seen your truck and I apologize that it took longer then expected but we want to fix things properly and make sure we follow Ford's policy and procedures so we can get paid something for the work we did. You also tagged a ton of people in your post including one person who has been home since the start of covid with health issues and a couple others who have no idea who you are so I am not sure why you would get them involved and hurt them. Again I due apologize for the amount of time it was here but there are always unforseen things that can arise when you are doing work that involves taking parts off the motor especially on a vehicle that isn't serviced here and has never been seen here.

dw responded privately on 5/11/22 10:07 AM I should have been more clear. Lombard quotes replacement of the fuel pump and the control module. The other Ford dealer determine the pump to be in good working order so I did not need it and the labor to pull the tank to replace. Bottom line was that the quotes were not apples to apples, which explains the difference. I do not believe the higher quote was meant to gouge the customer...it was simply a case a mis-diagnosis of the pump. If I had the $1400, I would have authorized the repair. It has illuminated the need for second opinions for me. I have no malice toward Lombard or its employees. I appreciate you giving me more details. You were passing threw with your daughters car and needed us to take a quick look it. the fuel pump was worst case scenario based on the information and the quick look we took on her car. That explains the price difference and im glad you were able to get it fixed at a shop closer to were you live and that only the control module needed to be replaced at this point.
