We can appreciate your frustration, Joe, regarding the financing aspect of this transaction. This was the result of a major communication lapse between the salesman and the Business Manager and we cannot say much that will justify that error from our end, except to apologize for it. We can also state emphatically that this was simply an error in communication and in no way was an attempt to deceive. We simply do not operate that way and haven’t in our 90 plus years of operation. Your salesperson did report that the vehicle was cleaned before delivery, but if you indeed spent as much time on it as you say, then clearly it was not done anywhere near as well as it should have been. For that we offer our apologies as well. We would only add that Dan is a very honorable salesperson and, while your frustration with the situation is understandable, we would respectfully, but strongly, disagree with your assessment of his character.

Certainly not the way we would like to start one either. Tajeffery. It is unclear to us by your comments, though, what the context of your visit entailed. There are times when we just acquire a pre-owned vehicle and a potential buyer wants to see it immediately that we would not have time to clean it. If that was the case here, we do regret that. Regarding your other comment, in a perfect world we would prefer not sell any used vehicle that had been in an accident. The reality is that, like any other dealer, we do stock those types of vehicles but use CarFax to identify any such incident. We are not sure if your dissatisfaction was that the vehicle simply had an accident listed or that it had one and CarFax did not pick it up. Either way, we are sorry your experience was not up to expectations.

We regret that you were not satisfied with your experience. We are a longstanding automotive dealership in Waterbury with over 90 years of history and do not employ any of the tactics alluded to in your comments (the $750 price adjustment is clearly noted on our website). We do acknowledge a miscommunication between our two stores, though. It is our honest belief that we received no deposit of any kind in this case. Though you first stated a check was written for the deposit, we had no record of that and asked for confirmation. You then stated it was a cash deposit. We very carefully record the receipt of any cash deposits or payments (for obvious reasons) but also have no record of receipt of such in this transaction. We feel we were not at all in the wrong here, but admit the error on the paperwork by our sister store crediting you for the amount of the deposit resulted in confusion. The bottom line is that we do not want any customer to feel dissatisfied with their experience and truly regret that this was the case here.
