On February 22, 2022 at 3:45pm I took my brand new 2021 Toyota Highlander to get its first 5,000 miles oil change and tire rotation. Within 36 minutes the task was completed. As soon as I arrived home I no Toyota Highlander to get its first 5,000 miles oil change and tire rotation. Within 36 minutes the task was completed. As soon as I arrived home I noticed these lights were turned on: check engine light, low engine oil pressure, low engine oil, and secondary collision brake system. I called Lithia Toyota of Redding with my concerns and they advise me to drive the vehicle back to the dealership, about a 15 minute drive back. Upon arrival, I notified one of the mechanics who looked under the vehicle and noticed oil was dumping from underneath. He proceeds to get in the vehicle and drives it into their shop onto the lift. After they inspected the vehicle they realized that during the oil change they forgot to remove the old oil gasket and they put a new one on top of it, which has caused the issues listed above. Lithia notifies me that they would like to keep the vehicle overnight to inspect the vehicle. The next day February 23, 2022, I went to pick up my vehicle at 9am. Upon arrival Robert wanted me to sign the work order that I was picking up the vehicle because of an engine light was on. None of the above was documented. After spending about two hours talking with Dave the general manger, Robert the service advisor, and Susan the customer affairs they said they would give me documentation. Which this never happened. Until I had my mom (who’s Caucasian) come in and within 10 minutes I finally got the documentation. Why was it so difficult for an Asian American widow/single mother to get this documentation? I did request for an oil analyst, but I’m assuming this request was denied since it has been a month since the incident and no one has contacted me back regarding this. They did not care of my concerns that with the low engine oil pressure light on and driving with it on there is a high possibility that this undermined the life of my brand new Toyota Highlander. Lithia also did not clean the vehicle from the oil dumping underneath. I want the peace of mind that my new vehicle that I put my savings on would last, thus the reason why I requested for the oil analyst. Bottom line: Lithia Toyota of Redding does not care for its community and an Asian American windowed single mother. It’s appalling that Toyota Corporation supports Lithia on how they handled the situation. More
I have an aging Prius and Bruce has been so helpful in keeping it running for me. He seems to always know what my car needs. Having that kind of confidence in the people taking care of your only vehicle g keeping it running for me. He seems to always know what my car needs. Having that kind of confidence in the people taking care of your only vehicle gives me tremendous peace of mind. He usually can get me in and out the same day! Bruce is everything you would want in a person providing you with service. I am always glad when I see that he is working when I bring my car in. Thank you for getting it done and getting my car back to me! More
