1. I called Lithia Reno Subaru dealer to inform them that my CEL and other lights were on, to which they replied, "do you have a diagnotic tool, or could you go to your local *** parts store, to get the erro my CEL and other lights were on, to which they replied, "do you have a diagnotic tool, or could you go to your local *** parts store, to get the error code?" 2. Upon taking my car to the selling dealer for said CEL issue, they kept it for 3 nights and were not able to solve issue. I asked man what do I do if lights come back on, he shruged and said, "well, try to disconnect battery terminal and reset code". -lololol 3. When I finally got my car back, the drivers armrest was full of water and cigarrette ash was in the center console, mats were dirty, and door sill dirty. {not joking} Other: 1. They push-talk me into giving me 10s on all the questionare. 2. The car was to come with all weather mats and it didn't. I had to come to dealer next week and wait 2 hours to get them. 3. I was cheated into getting a extended service plan at the finance department. The man lied and told me he could lower my interest rate if I bought it!!! More
I have been looking for an Impreza WRX since January. I have not gone to any other dealer because I have bought my last 2 Subarus from Lithia and they have always been very helpful. Not anymore. This is have not gone to any other dealer because I have bought my last 2 Subarus from Lithia and they have always been very helpful. Not anymore. This is April and I still haven't had any luck with them. I will be going to another dealer from now on. The salespeople are lazy and not willing to go the extra mile. They treat me like I don't know what I want because I am a woman. I feel like they have lied to me all along. More
I am floored to see such poor ratings for the service department. I have always had such a wonderful experience with Marvin. I am upset that they are so busy and I can't get in when I need to. I live s department. I have always had such a wonderful experience with Marvin. I am upset that they are so busy and I can't get in when I need to. I live so far outside of Reno and don't always know when I can get there. I think they need to hire more experienced mechanics. Even when I call to make an appointment, they are always full and I can't get in for another week or so. More
I would not recommend this dealerships service department to anyone ever for any reason. Their staff is rude and did not do the job right the first time or the second or the third. When I called to have the to anyone ever for any reason. Their staff is rude and did not do the job right the first time or the second or the third. When I called to have the matter resolved i was treated as if i was in the wrong for being upset that they were unable to fix my car. More
The sales folks were {naturally] friendly and helpful. Being a woman alone I never believe I am getting the best deal but I was shocked after interpretting what the salesman told me about free oil changes Being a woman alone I never believe I am getting the best deal but I was shocked after interpretting what the salesman told me about free oil changes for life then later reviewing the paperwork and seeing that I was charged $400 for these "free" oil changes. I was sorely disappointed. They charm you so that you pretty much sign whatever they put in front of you. My fault? Yes. But still disappointing when I thought I was getting free oil changes for life. Let's face it, car salesmen are great at what they do but I often wonder how they sleep at night. More
Scott works in the service dept. And as most Subaru owners know, a 2005 WRX has a 2.0L engine. He argued with me on the phone, saying that Subaru does not make 2.0L engines, only 2.5. HAHA. Wow. And th owners know, a 2005 WRX has a 2.0L engine. He argued with me on the phone, saying that Subaru does not make 2.0L engines, only 2.5. HAHA. Wow. And these are the people who will working on my car?? Not anymore. About a year ago, they rotated my tires, scratched the heck out of my wheels, Marvin came out and looked, and said he was pretty sure that was there before I brought it in. Subaru also says they do an inspection on the vehicles when doing an oil change. They failed to miss that I had a turn signal out, and 3 year old windshield wipers. When servicing my wifes 2010 Impreza 2.5i, they said the air filter was fine. I looked at it when I got home, it was the original, 6,000 miles on it, and very dirty. What a way to save a few bucks and time, and loose a customer one at a time. . . email me if you want anymore details. kevinrgrubb@yahoo.com More
Initially the salesman locked my girlfriend and I into an extended warranty that we were told covered free oil changes and maintences for the lifetime of the car. This proved to be untrue, the service depart extended warranty that we were told covered free oil changes and maintences for the lifetime of the car. This proved to be untrue, the service department said this wasn't the case, oil changes and maintences still cost forty plus dollars a visit. We have had trouble dropping the extended warranty, the finance manager insisted if we did so, the interest rate of the vehicle would rise. The finance manager also directed us to call their national warranty office if we wanted to drop the extended warranty, and the national office said the local dealership must do this. The first salesman actually sold us the car by using both of our names, even though I informed him my credit was frozen. This caused a problem at the corporate level, and the contract had to be renegotiated using only my girlfriend's name. I haven't been satisfied with any of their service, management, or sales staff. They seem to have been both dishonest and indifferent in their treatment of us. More
I'm sorry to see the bad ratings for the service department at Lithia Subaru. We have a 1998 Outback, and we've had it serviced there from day one. We have always been treated the absolute best, and department at Lithia Subaru. We have a 1998 Outback, and we've had it serviced there from day one. We have always been treated the absolute best, and Marvin is the best service person ever! He always takes good care of us, and they have even assigned us our own mechanic to our car, who always works on it, and has become an expert we trust. I would always say to work with Marvin, not the other service people. He has been there for years, and he knows and values his customers. He will get to know you and your car, and he's trustworthy and honest. I would highly recommend Marvin and Bill as people you can trust to take care of your car. More
Salesman lied about interest rates available and maintenance plan. I was an inexperienced car buyer. He said with the oil change plan I could drop in anytime for service and oil changes would take maintenance plan. I was an inexperienced car buyer. He said with the oil change plan I could drop in anytime for service and oil changes would take 30 minutes. I've "dropped in" twice and was told it would take all day, I've called 10 times before finally getting through to a person and was told it was two weeks out, I've emailed twice with no response. I still cannot get in for an oil change. My salesman "moved" and wasn't working there anymore when I asked for him two months after buying my new car there and no one else wanted to help me since I already had a new car. I would definitely not recommend Lithia Subaru nor will I ever buy another car from them again. More
We bought an '85 GL Wagon that had been stored for 5 yrs. My husband replaced the basic things: water & fuel pumps, thermostat, fuel filter, choke & duty solenoids, plugs & wires, rotor & cap, air & oil filt My husband replaced the basic things: water & fuel pumps, thermostat, fuel filter, choke & duty solenoids, plugs & wires, rotor & cap, air & oil filters, and flushed the water & fuel systems. The car always started before this and ran ok but stalled out on test runs. After the work was done, it idled fine but still had a hesitation upon excelleration. We decided to have a dealership do a diagnostic and trailered it to Lithia. We were quoted $168 for a diagnostic but ended up with a "safety" check instead. They sold us on new brakes. When we asked about the warning lights and hesitation, they were baffled. After 3 days, they had not done any testing because they said the plates were expired...we told them that we were wanting the diagnostic done before getting it smogged in CA, so that was not a new issue. They said they couldn't test drive it because of the plates! Can't they just plug it in to the computer and tell us about the carbs, etc for what was quoted on the phone? That's all we ever wanted done - not that much of a mystery! So tomorrow we're going to trailer it to an independent. And, we owe them over $750!!! How stupid are they? We were planning on driving it this winter and trading it in this summer...they lost new Loyal Customers and a Sale! Dummies! More
