certified used cars is misleading to the public we purchased a "certified" used car from Broadway Ford with the understanding it had gone through a multi point inspection. after the purchase we disc we purchased a "certified" used car from Broadway Ford with the understanding it had gone through a multi point inspection. after the purchase we discovered the air conditioning needed repair, which we had pointed out on the test drive and they repaired. what they would not repair was the faulty brakes, and we found a crack in the radiator, which should have been obvious during their inspection and the AC repair. the rear window does not close properly. we have spent over $800 on repairs on this "certified" used car. buyer be ware when going to this business. they are not honest. Never buy a used car from Broadway Ford My husband and I were solicited by a salesperson, Shane, from Broadway Ford after he saw our advertisement for our truck in the local paper. We had n My husband and I were solicited by a salesperson, Shane, from Broadway Ford after he saw our advertisement for our truck in the local paper. We had no intention of buying anything from them but did want to sell our truck. However, we were looking for a Jeep to tow behind our RV and they happened to have a used Liberty on the lot. Nothing ventured, nothing gained they say. Now we are out at least $500 in repairs, so we gained nothing. During the test drive, I noticed that the AC was not working. The salesman, Tyler, assured us that it would be fixed for us at no charge. So, in exchange for our $9500 Dodge Truck, we got a $7000 Jeep. Ok. But that is what we wanted, if everything worked. We took the car in for the repair, oil change and detail. All of this was promised to us in writing. They recharged the AC and 2 days later, it was not working. By this time, we were headed to WA. in 90+ degree heat and with a dog in our car. We called almost every other day to speak to someone about the AC and NEVER received a return call until the day we called the Corporate office for Ford. After 2000 miles in unbearable heat, we are back in Idaho Falls. When I called to talk to someone about the AC, I found out they hadn't done the oil change either. They took the sticker off but that is all. Then they want to haggle about the AC. The promissory note said - recharge AC, not fix AC - so, Keith McCabe (Sales Manager) was going to make us pay for a new compressor. But, they did make good on that part. Of course, I ask the service guy who is arranging the oil change what is wrong with the brakes and this is when I find out that the car needs new brakes, all the way around. So, we have taken the car to a "real" mechanic who also discover a cracked radiator. When Ford promises that the cars pass a vigorous inspection to be "certified pre-owned", one could make the assumption that the car is road worthy and not needing any major repairs. In fact, our salesperson told us this car was road worthy. I don't know about you, but no AC, no brakes and needing a radiator is not my idea of roadworthy. Either Broadway Ford did not do an inspection, and advertised that they did. Or they did do an inspection and knew that the car needed repairs. Either way, the consumer got a raw deal. I make sure that I tell everyone I know not to shop Broadway Ford. More
