I went in because my vehicle that I’ve had for three months (certified preowned vehicle) had a warning light on that said “engine maintenance required visit your dealer” and then there was a tire pressu months (certified preowned vehicle) had a warning light on that said “engine maintenance required visit your dealer” and then there was a tire pressure light on so I went in and showed them the message and Kai was the one that helped me. After 2 1/2 hours, he tells me that all I needed was to have my tires rotated and one tire was low on air and I’m like why would it come up with engine maintenance required and he says “that’s just that was it said”. I asked “are you’re sure there’s nothing else” and he says no, then hands me the invoice with all the checklists. Everything‘s in green great awesome I leave and a Half hour later, the engine maintenance required light comes back on. After calling repeatedly and getting no response. I finally got a live person and they told me that oh whoops they made a mistake. It was actually some thing that needs to be ordered (engine coolant bypass value). They don’t have it in stock and it’s $600 and I’m like “ first of all why wasn’t this mentioned when I was in your service center? Why wasn’t it indicated on the Lipton Toyota invoice that I got? How can it be diagnosed over the phone when I called back to say that the light is back on? And then finally I asked well since I’ve only had the car for three months and it’s a certified preowned car this will be covered right?” And I was told “no”. When I asked to speak to someone who could explain to me the answer to all of my questions I spoke with Andy, the service manager, and he told me that it absolutely is covered, but the message that showed up in my car is confusing because it’s extremely similar to the one that Kai said I had, which was that I just needed to have my tires rotated. Not true, since I took a picture of the second message and the previous message and they’re exactly the same so how is it that it wasn’t figure it out when I was in there, and yet it could be figured out over the phone. A few hours later is extremely puzzling and upsetting,) Completely wasted my time and I am not happy. More
