This will be the last time I'll take my car for service at Lindsay VW. My service advisor, David G Strauch, was the worst communicator and terrible at follow through. I went in for my 50k service, VA ins at Lindsay VW. My service advisor, David G Strauch, was the worst communicator and terrible at follow through. I went in for my 50k service, VA inspection, some suspension noise and clicking noise coming from behind the glove box which I already had troubleshot for them as the recirculation motor. The young lady that helped me initially was nice and pleasant, I just wish I got a different Service advisor. I took in my car at 10:30am. 50k service is a simple one so at 2:20pm, I responded to the text I received from their system if there were any updates. No Response. I called and left him a voice mail. No response. At 5:30pm I receive a call saying my car is ready. I had to ask about my other issues which seemed like they were ignored when he told me that he had to get warranty approval. Ok, thats reasonable. But I had to ask him about it and it was a 6 hour wait for what is essentially an oil change and Inspection. Now I'm waiting for a call back about my warranty work. Of course there is no call back. I get a text asking how my service was. I said "Unfinished". Anna said they'll have David call me. No call back. Its 3 weeks later and no call back, no update. I'll have another dealer take care of my problem and services in the future. Probably won't be buying my next VW from Lindsay either. More
Update: First of all there is no misrepresentation of the facts this is true. You guys were all nice and welcoming to begin with and as soon as you pull someone’s credit you change. Especially coming from th facts this is true. You guys were all nice and welcoming to begin with and as soon as you pull someone’s credit you change. Especially coming from the Sales Manager Joshua Pidek you are the one who called me a day before I was coming in to fix everything and threaten me trying to scare me. If that is customer service then you need to hire and or train more professional people to work in your dealership. I gave this dealership a gift certificate which MVA gave to me to give to this dealership in order to get a tax credit from the dealership. If anyone is misrepresenting the facts it is you guys. Lindsay does not adhere to state laws they adhere to their own laws and whatever they want to do and they do not care about their customers at all. Other bigger and better dealerships in Virginia and Maryland that I have dealt with never had any problems about the same issue. Lindsay still owes me my 2 keys from the 3 keys I gave them and my registration and the title to the car. Especially after everything was done and I did not want to buy from you guys, you flipped on me and showed your true work ethics that you do not care. When I got my car back I had to put my original tags back on myself because no one wanted to help and I had to ask the service department for a screwdriver to put my own tags back on my car. STAY AWAY FROM LINDSAY. I find it also frustrating that a sales manager at a dealership wants to blame the customer for wanting what they were promised in the beginning of the deal. This service is the main reason I did not want the car because you do not know how to treat your customers with respect and professionalism. Maybe this dealership should hire some professional people to work for them. I even have the voicemail from their finance director saying that I dropped off all the documents they needed. WORST DEALERSHIP TO BUY A CAR FROM, if I could give them zero stars I would. They act so nice and helpful to begin with and then rip you off with their dealership made rules. The finance department here is the worst especially the Finance Director Larry Schiro. I came to buy a new car from them and I was expecting to get a tax credit since I was eligible for it and it is the Maryland State law. They gave me the numbers originally with a tax credit for my car and as soon as they pulled my credit they change the numbers completely and were no longer willing to give me the tax credit that I was eligible for. Stay away from Lindsay!!! More
Highly dissatisfied and disappointed with Lindsay Service (Sterling, VA) as well as Ourisman Service Center(Bethesda, MD). Service Maintenance package is TOTAL SHAM. I bought 2019 Jetta from Ourisman Beth (Sterling, VA) as well as Ourisman Service Center(Bethesda, MD). Service Maintenance package is TOTAL SHAM. I bought 2019 Jetta from Ourisman Bethesda with external paint protection in Jan 2019 and Dec 2019 bought 8 years maintenance plan for a hefty price from the same dealer. I was told, you have paid for 8 maintenance services and external paint protection. I got my first years maintenance done at Stohlsman near my work place on Feb 14th, 2020 @12k mileage with VA Safety inspection. Experience was super smooth and helpful. I asked them about getting the car polished, they could not see anything on my account wrt Paint protection I bought along with the car. I thought that must have been glitch in the system. After the first service I hardly drove the car and procrastinated 2 year/20k Service little longer, mainly because of pandemic, low mileage (15.8K miles), work schedule and need to align with my wife's availability for pickup and drop off. Finally on 4/22 upon receiving a mail with option to schedule online, my stars aligned and I scheduled the service with Lindsay on 4/30 requesting a. VA Safety Inspection, b. Recall work and c. 20k maintenance Service. After going there to drop the car off, Lindsay service rep gave me a shocker that the 20k service has expired and cannot use it. Its been 14 months since the last service and I have to pay from the pocket, though it was fully paid years in advance. I declined the service and asked him to do inspection and recall work. Just when I was leaving, Service advisor came and told me that, car will be ready on Saturday 5/1. I said, that's fine, just perform inspection also tomorrow so that I get May sticker as opposed to April Sticker. Next day, I called Ourisman Service center, explained service rep in detail what happened to 20k service. He was first apologetic, said you can bring the car here 50 miles away in MD and can perform 20k service but obviously cannot do VA Safety inspection. He kept on saying, you bought it but did not consume it, whatever that means. I requested him to talk to Lindsay or someone in VW, after some more discussion, he put me on hold for 40 minutes with no response. I had other activities lined up, so I thought I will take it up later and instead decided to get the car back from Lindsay. On Saturday, I did not get a call as previously promised, then I started following up late Saturday night. After 2-3 texts, Monday 2pm, got the response that car is ready for pickup. When I picked up the car at 4pm, I noticed: - VA Safety Inspection was done on Friday with April sticker, though I requested to be done next day. - Invoice said, "Drive through Car wash" was performed. I saw car covered with layer of green pollens, no car wash was done. I saw other cars freshly washed but not my car. - Recall work was performed. - 20K service was not performed but under parts section 20k service was marked completed. This was a pathetic service. I feel Maintenance package is total RIP-OFF. Despite paying in advance, VW refuses to perform the service. Dealers are not responsive and seemed least bothered. I am very frustrated with the overall experience and attitude shown towards me, to the extent that I don't want to continue with VW, want my money back for the packages I bought. I would like to return the car as well, provided I get my hard earned money back. Hope someone from VW is listening. - Nadeem P. More

I had previously worked with him years ago and knew he was a stand up guy, but this solidified a customer for life! More
I was coming out of a three year lease with my previous Volkswagen and I was unsure of what my next car should be. I came to Lindsay at first for the convenience of it being next to my place of work. I the Volkswagen and I was unsure of what my next car should be. I came to Lindsay at first for the convenience of it being next to my place of work. I then stayed with Lindsay because I was treated with only respect. My sales consultant, Marcus, was amazing from the beginning. Any questions or concerns I had were immediately answered. I wasn't sure which car I wanted and he gave me many options to choose from without forcing me to pick something that was in the dealership's best interest. I left with an Atlas Cross Sport yesterday afternoon and I've had a permanent smile on my face ever since. I want to say one more time-- ask for Marcus when you're ready for you next vehicle! More
Review of Lindsay Volkswagen Service. On 26 Oct 2020, Review of Lindsay Volkswagen Service. On 26 Oct 2020, I dropped my 2017 VW certified pre-owned GTI off at Lindsay Volkswagen for a 27 Oct 2020 a Review of Lindsay Volkswagen Service. On 26 Oct 2020, I dropped my 2017 VW certified pre-owned GTI off at Lindsay Volkswagen for a 27 Oct 2020 appointment. The issue was water leaking onto the drivers floormat when parked in the rain. From all the website blogs it appears to be a common problem where the sunroof drain tubes are clogged. I took the car to the dealership vice my normal mechanic because the blogs said the problem was so common there may be a Technical Service Bulletin. After calling a couple hours after my appointment time the service advisor, I won’t use his name, checked and said my 2017 certified VW had rust on the frame of the sunroof and it would cost $3500. I explained this is a common problem, on the internet, and if a 2017 sunroof has enough rust for the sunroof to leak it is a manufacturers defect and the part should be replaced for free. No agreement from my Service Advisor. I picked the car up the next day for $149.95 and the technician was not in to speak to and the advisor was still no help. I took the car from the dealership to my mechanic who fixed the clog in less than an hour, said it’s very common, and fixed my seatbelt which had been twisted inside the pillar, I assume during the Lindsay VW inspection. I called the original VW Service Advisor at 12:05 and said I’d like to speak to a Manager. He said they were at lunch. I called back at 3:40 and left a message that I would like to speak to a Manager. A Manager, I won’t use his name, called at 7PM and was helpful and knowledgeable. He said he knew the leak was a common problem and it would be odd for rust. He asked me to come in the next day and refunded me the $149.95. I did not mention the seat belt twist. I received two generic robo texts asking how the service was on 29 and 31 Oct. I did not respond because this was my second negative experience at the dealership. The first time I wasted my time writing up the issue and got no response. The first incident was on 27 Aug 2020 when I brought my VW GTI in for an oil change and tire rotation. All went well but the “Lindsay Volkswagen World Class Inspection” (actually says that on the invoice) recommended a four wheel alignment. I left the dealership and went directly to the NTB service shop where they offer a 5 year alignment. They said I had a bad brake caliper leak. I left NTB and went directly to my mechanic who confirmed the caliper leak and replaced the caliper. I wrote this up and sent it twice to the texts and got no response. Bottom line: The manager tried to resolve but between overpriced estimates, bad diagnosis and a feedback system made designed to send generic texts I would take my business elsewhere. More
I worked with Bob Derby and he is a pleasure to deal with. What a gentleman and a professional. I'd recommend him and the dealership at large to anyone in the market for a vehicle. with.
