i went into dealershp to look at a specific make and model truck. the salesman Paul was very good. he was trying to do the best for me. After price of purchase was agreed upon (which also matched numbers they gave me over phone and when i walked in), the haggling over trade in value began. we had some back and forths and the GM Rich came back with smile and we shook hands. I was all set to sign when i reviewed printed contract. The numbers had changed. After a detailed review and questions, they said a new manager (4 weeks there) changed them. he said they couldn't meet his needs. I asked when they were going to tell me the numbers changed, instead of just giving me contract. Instead of just pleading his case, he also insulted the car i was trading in. i was also told that they only put $25 of gas in the vehicle (which had a 36 gallon tank and was low on fuel). they said it was their cost, that Ford doesn't give it. i bought the same truck the next business day at a dealer a few miles down the road (with a full tank of gas no less). other dealer beat price, was no pressure and provided a great experience. Let me be clear up front- I did NOT purchase a vehicle at Liccardi Ford, although I attempted to. The only reason I went to Liccardi was because their website new car inventory indicated they had a Shelby GT Liccardi Ford, although I attempted to. The only reason I went to Liccardi was because their website new car inventory indicated they had a Shelby GT500 in stock. This was only the first of many lies. On May 10, 2013, I visited Liccardi to test drive the Shelby, only to be told it was still on order and will arrive shortly (lie #2). The salesperson told me that he would be able to order one for me, and after asking how long it would take, he responded that it world be 6-8 weeks (lie #3). He asked how much I wanted to pay for the car, and I indicated that I would like the amount on the sticker to equal my out of pocket cost (in other words, I wanted the sales tax built into the total final price). After agreeing that this was entirely feasible, he then asked if I would give him a deposit, and I agreed to give him $1000. When he came out with the invoice, the price on it was not what we had just agreed to merely 5 minutes earlier. When I inquired he simply responded that he made an error, and "didn't understand what I meant by out of pocket expense" (lie #4). Nevertheless, I proceeded. Eight weeks had elapsed and I called to get the status. After several messages and no response, I finally asked to speak with Tom, the manager, who gave me the order number and dealer code, so that I could call SVT directly and get status. Now 3 months had elapsed and the status per SVT was the same- "Currently not scheduled for production". After calling them weekly, the rep probably began to recognize my voice told me to check with the dealer to ensure they had the allocation for the car. I called again and spoke with Stavros, and he assured me that they had the allocation (lie #5). Upon my next call to SVT, they informed me that at this point in time, there is very little chance that this car will ever be built, and that I should go to my dealer and get my deposit back. I tried calling for several weeks and did not have my calls returned. When I asked to speak with Tom, I was told he was no longer working there. I told the admin that I would be there Friday to take back my deposit. Stavros called me back within a few minutes and told me that he would not be able to get the car, because “he thought they world be able to get the allocation, but were not able to", even though he assured me that he was positive that they had the allocation (see lie #5). He then told me that he tried to search for one within a 300 mile radius, but was unsuccessful (lie #6- there were 2 at Dana Ford, 1 at Tom’s Ford, 1 at Mendham Ford, and 2-3 more within a 25 mile radius). In the end, all Liccardi Ford did was lie to me. They took me off the market for 5 months, making it almost impossible for me to obtain this vehicle, and held my $1000 for 5 months, without even returning my calls. More
