Quite possibly my best car buying experience! We found a great deal on an off-lease CPO Kia Telluride at Liberty Kia through an internet car-buying service. We made initial contact with the dealership late at night and wanted to come by the next morning to look at the vehicle. We were on our way to the dealership before we were contacted to setup an appointment. No worries, Tony our salesperson was still welcoming and considerate eventhough we missed making an appointment and eventhough he was working with another customer. After a few minutes we were shown the vehicle. It was in beautiful condition. Took it for a test drive and loved it. Discussed price briefly with Tony and made the deal. The sale price and other fees were all detailed on their website and was what was expected. No extras. No 10 trips to the manager. No xx. Just nice and easy. We made the deal but we needed to come back later to complete the transaction and work through financing. Tony made arrangements to have us picked up at the nearby train station for the vehicle pickup. Bernadette in financing made the financing process quick, easy and reasonable. No xx there either. Never felt like we were waiting around. I've leased or purchased about 20 cars and this transaction is among the best I've experienced. I would highly recommend going to Liberty Kia for your next vehicle. More
I will preface this by saying I have been working in dealerships for 20 years and so have a level of expectation. Our experience with Liberty Kia could have gone completely different. Instead it was dealerships for 20 years and so have a level of expectation. Our experience with Liberty Kia could have gone completely different. Instead it was exactly how NOT to handle a mistake, a bunch of seemingly incompetent people all the way thru and then them trying to get extra money from us in the end. My husband and I have been searching for a CPO Kia Stinger for a bit. Finding one 10hrs away in another state we were ready to buy after getting some pics and more info from Tony. When I asked him to provide a break down of the pricing he did and also provided a sales price $900 off of their online sales price ($32000 instead of $32900). When the numbers did not add up, I questioned his math on taxes that he stood by. I assumed there were just fees that were not being disclosed and decided to wait until we had an official buyers order to see the break down. Tony did do great at getting us more pics of the car. We were ready to place a deposit. When the paperwork for us to sign came over, sales price now listed back at $32900 and taxes figured by NJ instead of MI. We now had been provided two sets of figures that were not right. Tony' response via text is he was sorry, that the $32000 was a typo "however, if you look at the total, $35,398.70 is based on a sale price of $32,900" This is when it took a turn for the worst. In speaking with Tony on the phone, my husband tried to get things sorted out explaining neither set of numbers were correct. We offered a win-win of splitting the difference on the mistake $450 each. Instead Tony got agitated and hung up on my husband. I know this is NOT the way to handle a mistake. If he had said, calmly, "I am sorry I made a mistake let me see what I can do", even if there was nothing he could do, we would have proceeded and would have placed a deposit to secure the vehicle. Instead he tried to strong arm with "I have another customer that wants to buy" and hanging up. This is exactly what gives car sales people a bad reputation that those of us in the business have strived diligently to overcome. After several hours Tony did come back with a decreased price that we found acceptable so we decided to proceed. At this point Bernadette, the finance manager, took over for the paperwork. She got everything together and FedEx'ed us the paperwork, being sure to tell us to make sure we had it notarized. When asked what had to be notarized, she was not sure. Got the paperwork signed and notarized and all funds sent to them. Then we waited... I received a call from their office staff telling me the total on our registration and title fees that they handled for us. Again, being in auto sales and dealing with our state agency I know what the state fees total. When I questioned the total, I asked for a breakdown to be sent to me. Tony then did and sent and email stating that MI does not provide a total breakdown (yes they do, it is a receipted RD108) and "I believe this to be very reasonable, especially for a Stinger". I then emailed him back and told him I called my state office to verify transaction fee. They tried to charge me an additional $142. At this point I waited a couple hours and suddenly my husband gets an email stating we were right to challenge and that they had received a letter from the state that they had been overcharged... Doubtful. When the car arrived (as we had it shipped in) the detail was subpar - sticky spots inside on radio buttons, greasy spots on the leather. We could not even change the clock and had a speed limit warning that went off when ever we drove on the highway because the previous owner had set a MyUVO pin which we then had to call an 800 number to get reset. Love the car and maybe it would have been different if we had been in person. That said, anyone looking to buy remotely from this store I would recommend avoiding them. Also anyone local, be certain they are not jacking up your DMV fees because you pay after the sale. More

During our negotiations, he was not only professional, he was attentive, patient and demonstrated great communication and listening skills. We especially appreciated that he took the time to ensure that the purchase process was seamless. Upon receiving our cars, he walked us through all of the features and helped with setting up the various car features specific to each of our preferences. Jeremiah exceeded our expectations with respect to customer service acumen. We are happy with each model we purchased; a Seltos, a Sportage and a Sorento! Without a doubt, I will be recommending my other family and friends to visit Liberty Kia and work with Jeremiah. More

We really had a great experience buying our Kia Sorento from Liberty Kia. We live about 2.5 hours away from the dealership, but Tony was really great and worked with us through email and phone.
