Dishonest I had posted a 5-star review, but had to reverse course. Our salesman insisted they had to put on a rust inhibitor and implied it was complimentary. D I had posted a 5-star review, but had to reverse course. Our salesman insisted they had to put on a rust inhibitor and implied it was complimentary. During the signing, the costs were covered. Was I a schmuck for not asking more questions. Absolutely. But don't ignore the bad reviews like I did. Stay away. When we came back to pick the car up and realized the charge, Mo, the Nissan Sales Manager, went over charges with me. Very helpful in that moment. He said he'd check with the boss to see what he could do and promised to call back within 2 days. I didn't hear from him, so I called and left messages on both his cell and office line and sent 2 emails over the next 5 days. Nothing. Mo ghosted me (really unprofessional). Finally I explained this to a receptionist and was transferred to a different sales manager. He at least explained things and told me there was nothing they could do. I'm a schmuck. Don't be one. Read the bad reviews. The only reason they have such a high rating is because while you're negotiating and waiting, they ask you for a 5-star review. Builds up the numbers. I will never be back. Also, the advertised price includes rebates. Over the phone I was told that wasn't the case. Not clear until the end. If you do insist on going there, ASK LOTS OF QUESTIONS. These are really shady & tricky people. More

They use tactics to get you in the door that are include being dishonest about price. There was a Kia on carguru for 16490 brand new excluding tax title, Etc. I called and spoke to the manager Steve who told me that they had the car for that price. I asked him how come the vehicle was so cheap when everyone else is selling it for nearly 28,000. He told me because they're near Chicagoland they have the ability to sell things cheaper due to the fact there are so many car dealerships vs going into the suburbs. Then I come to find out that the price he gave me was not true and that they didn't even have the car. I urge everyone not to go to the dealer More

If you want to be pushed around, spoken loudly to, disregarded, insulted, and scammed during your car buying experience, come to Kia Libertyville. Just for clarification, IF YOU WANT TO HAVE A HORRIBLE TIME, COME TO KIA LIBERTYVILLE. Ask for Mike or Anthony and I assure you, you will have all of the above. Not only was the salesman incredibly abrasive, he was also a poor listener. Eventually, we came to find out he was also a liar. After discussing an online price, we were told that the online price was ABSOLUTELY what we could purchase the car at! Perfect. One awkward and silent test drive later, we find ourselves back in this office discussing options. We were made to feel as though they didn’t want us to purchase a vehicle, and not out of a pure intent to make sure we found the right car. Maybe it was our accent, maybe it was the fact that we had the audacity to ask questions about the PRICE ADVERTISED ONLINE. Whatever it was, the Kia Libertyville employees (let me reiterate: Mike, Anthony, and one more who’s lucky we didn’t catch his name) were continuously rude and dismissive. Mike kept leaving to consult with his coworkers, which would have been perfectly acceptable if we had not heard his supervisor tell him to “just go deal with them,” while making direct eye contact. If you would like for a car salesmen to “just deal” with you, come here. Or, you can go to Subaru just around the corner and be treated like a human. More
Don’t buy used cars from this dealer I would give no stars if possible, just want to let anyone know to do their homework and do a CARFAX before buying a used car from this dealer. I boug I would give no stars if possible, just want to let anyone know to do their homework and do a CARFAX before buying a used car from this dealer. I bought a used 2014 Kia Sorento exactly 2 years ago in May 10th not even a year from buying the car I had to put new tires cause they were defected paid over $1,000 on brand new tires. Then I took it to the shop because the heated seat was not working when I got it back because everything was fixed the seat was all broken, there were scratches on the door and the floor and all the inside of the car was all dirty. I put a complain and everything supposedly got fix with brand new items, i went and pick up the truck and the seat belt light was on but i didn’t notice until i got home that it turned on in the way home, I was a few weeks away from having my twin baby girls and didn’t took it back right away(HUGE mistake) I was so tired since I was going in/out for months already I wanted to concentrates on my pregnancy and having my babies. When I finally took it back for the seat belt light it took them a month to finally call me tell me that they could not fix it because the car has been in a car accident already and has been replaced. I went and spoke the the used car manager(he was extremely rude to us, basically saying I should done homework and do research in this car before signing the papers in a very rude way) he said that it was correct it was not covered by the guarantee because it had been replaced already. When I bought the car I paid more money for the guaranty to be extended for 5 years thinking I didn’t want to deal with this type of problems for at least 5 years, never thinking it had been in a accident already. I don’t know if people do read all the way to the end this reviews but I really hope this helps future buyers to not make the same mistakes I did. Para las personas que no leen inglés un resumen de lo que explique por favor hagan un poco de tarea y saquen un reporte(CARFAX) antes de comprar un carro usado en este dealer. Yo compré el mío hace dos años y fue la peor inversión de mi vida. Thank you for your time. Gracias por tomar el tiempo de Leer. More

He was very friendly, show I came in looking to buy a 2020 Kia Soul and Chet was the one that helped me out. Turned out to be a pretty good sales rep. He was very friendly, showed you every bit of the car, and even took extra time to show me a little more about things like the android auto system so when it came time to decide on whether or not the car is what I wanted, I knew everything I needed to know. Definitely try to get Chet if you end up at Liberty Kia. More
$572 to Replace Battery I called Liberty Kia on Friday afternoon because I was at a gas station close by in Vernon Hills and my car wouldn’t start after I filled my tank. The I called Liberty Kia on Friday afternoon because I was at a gas station close by in Vernon Hills and my car wouldn’t start after I filled my tank. They gave me the number of the towing company they use and I had my 2016 Kia Soul towed there. Jason, the service manager, told me they were busy and he couldn’t get to it until Monday morning, and he’d call me after they looked at it. i called at 9:15 am Monday. Call went to voice mail. Left message that I really needed a call back ASAP as I need my car to work. Jason called me back around 10:30 and told me they were pulling it into the bay now. Finally at 1:30 he called me back and said the motor won’t turn over and they need to call KIA. Found this strange but said okay and reiterated that I really need my car for work. Jason called me back at 4:00 all happy and said they found the problem— my battery was bad, bulging and looked like it could explode. At this point I’m wondering why that wasn’t the first thing they looked at as the problem was my car wouldn’t start... I asked him what the bill was. He said $490. I asked him how in the world the bill could be that high for a bad battery. He said $85 for the tow (10 minute tow but whatever), $140 for diagnostics, and $265 for the battery and installation. I expressed my displeasure at this outrageous price, but what could I do— they had my car and I needed to work. I took an Uber there ($9, only reasonable charge of this fiasco) and went to the counter to pay my bill. The woman pulled my ticket and said the charge is $572! I asked to speak to Jason. He came out and I asked him how the outrageous bill of $490 to replace my battery increased to $572. He said, “I didn’t tell you $490.” I said yes Jason, you did— I even told you the charge was exorbitant and you gave me the breakdown of charges. He denied it again. I asked him to explain the charges to me. He started off with the $140 charge for running diagnostics on my car. I asked him why that was necessary if I had an obvious bulging battery and the problem was my car wouldn’t start. He said that KIA’s have been having issues with motors seizing and he needed to make sure I didn’t have a problem with my motor. Perplexed, I asked him why I should pay for that. He said that’s the way it works. At this point, my frustration was pretty high. I paid my bill and left feeling like I was just fleeced. I like my KIA Soul— but I will NEVER go back to Liberty KIA to have it serviced. More
