The VW Service Department goes the "extra mile" to help out their customers. I have had nothing but good experiences there and they have kept my daughter's 2004 Jetta VR6 running in tip top shape. to help out their customers. I have had nothing but good experiences there and they have kept my daughter's 2004 Jetta VR6 running in tip top shape. The only downside, as with most European sports sedans, is that the maintenance charges are on par with other high end brands (about the same as my MINI and the wife's Lexus). Liberty VW has good coupons from time-to-time for service specials to help off-set some of these costs. More

Service at Liberty auto is great. I've been a customer for about 9 years now. I have taken two different VWs to them for everything. They have always been helpful and very friendly. I bought my second VW for about 9 years now. I have taken two different VWs to them for everything. They have always been helpful and very friendly. I bought my second VW mainly due to their fine service department. The sales department was able to match the offer I had from a neighboring Toyota dealer and they subtracted a $1000 loyalty bonus since I was trading in a VW. More

Worst car dealer in Illinois! I bought a VW tiguan in Worst car dealer in Illinois! I bought a VW tiguan in August. We agreed to pay extra for the 17'' alloy wheel, and blue-tooth connection. When we Worst car dealer in Illinois! I bought a VW tiguan in August. We agreed to pay extra for the 17'' alloy wheel, and blue-tooth connection. When we picked up the car two days later, the dealer told us the wheel on the car was 17'' alloy, with no comparisons we trusted the dealer. When we get home and did some research, we found those were just standard wheels. So we went back to the dealer, they took out the original sales paper and on there they put "no 17'' alloy wheels". The handwriting was completely different, everyone could tell they wrote that just moment ago. The salesman and manager both denied that they ever agreed to such a deal. So I talked to the "General Manager", yea... He made my day even better... First he kept brag about how many real estates he ever bought, kept on saying that was my fault for not taking a closer look of the car, and then he raised his voice and started to threading me. Great! BTW, check, BBB, They got an F! no surprise! It was 6 month ago, now I decided to buy another VW, a VW CC. I learned and searched for dealer ratings this time! That got "DealerRater.com Certified Dealer"... What a Joke. Read the reviews, don't trust this website. More
After being instructed to drop the car off at noon, I arrived to find the mechanics were all at lunch. I was told they'd need a hour and a half to look at my car. Courtesy ride back to work was followed arrived to find the mechanics were all at lunch. I was told they'd need a hour and a half to look at my car. Courtesy ride back to work was followed by a return trip at 4, their latest pickup time. The dealership had confirmed the two problems I had advised - rear defroster inoperable, muffler broken off at flange. Parts were on order, but my warranty would cover both services. I had to leave the car there all afternoon for them to confirm what I knew and could demonstrate with five minutes of pointing. It took 30 minutes for them to bring the wrong vehicle out front for me and an additional 10 to get my vehicle. I received a phone call the next morning advising my muffler is actually not under warranty. Terry offered me the number for warrantyservice and said he'd call back in 10 minutes. Hours later, I've received no call and only reach voicemailI. I need my vehicle fixed and am willing to pay, but this unprofessional behavior leaves me with no choice but to call around. More
Worst experience ever! I struggle to find words strong enough to adequately describe how horrible my experience was without using profanity. I found the car I LOVED online, and after running through prici enough to adequately describe how horrible my experience was without using profanity. I found the car I LOVED online, and after running through pricing, trade, and financing at another dealer, I had a good idea of what I wanted to have happen when I walked through the doors. After getting back from the test drive Carl asked me if I liked it. Of course I said yes, and then explained that liking and affording are two different things and we needed to talk numbers. He said that he was going to have all the stickers taken off and have it cleaned while we drew up the paperwork. I repeated that I was not buying the car, but wanted to look at different pricing options with and without a trade, different financing packages, etc. He told me, in a condescending tone, that he would have me work those things out with the finance guy in just a few minutes and that it would all work out just fine. AN HOUR AND FIFTEEN MINUTES later (I was the only customer I saw), I sat down with the finance guy. He was told by Carl that it was a done deal at numbers I never agreed to. They offered me HALF on my trade in than what I was offered three days prior at another dealer, financing that was TWO AND A HALF TIMES what I was offered elsewhere, and refused to budge a penny on the asking price. I am convinced that despite my telling Carl that I am a math teacher and a numbers person, he was taking me for such a ride because I came in there by myself as a woman. I walked away from a car I LOVE and have been hunting for simply because I couldn't bear to give this joke of a man my money. To make matters worse, I called the other VW dealer to check some of the "facts" I was told about warranties and financing, and found out that I was flat out LIED TO. UGH! It makes my blood pressure rise just thinking about the place. More
