Add-ons to the Sale Price! I was looking for a used Honda Ridgeline and I found one on Autotrader that was advertised at Koons Lexus in Wilmington. The price was in line with o I was looking for a used Honda Ridgeline and I found one on Autotrader that was advertised at Koons Lexus in Wilmington. The price was in line with other prices I have seen on the internet and the Carfax looked good so I decided to check it out. Koons Lexus’s used cars are housed in a building which I believe was once an indoor skating rink. The salesman led me to the Ridgeline indoors and I immediately noticed a paper on the front windshield. It read “Reconditioning Fee $695”! Are ya kidding me! This should be included in the price. Anyway I took the Ridgeline out for a drive and really liked it! The previous owner had taken very good care of it. So yes I was interested in purchasing it. The salesman writes up the bill of sale and adds the $695 to the price of the vehicle. So I’m ready to walk. I tell him that I will not pay the $695 reconditioning fee. So he does take it off the price of the vehicle. I get my phone calculator out and jungle the numbers. For some reason my numbers aren’t jiving with theirs! I’m off by quite a bit! I look at the bill of sale and they have the price of the vehicle, title and tag fees, sales tax and a $599 PROCESSING FEE! xxx! What’s that for! Oh everybody pays that! Well I’m not and I walk out the door. I’m checking out the Ridgeline outside. I don’t’ want to let it go because it’s really a nice one. The salesman comes out and says they will take $250 off the price of the vehicle but the $599 stays. Like a schmuck I say take off $250 more and I’ll buy it. So they did and I did purchase the truck. I’ve had the truck for a little over a month and I really do like it. As for Koon Lexus’s sales practices I don’t! Would I recommend them? Sorry but no.. More
